Abstract: An apparatus and a method for correcting a moving direction of a pedestrian using a terrestrial magnetism sensor are provided to estimate the position of the pedestrian by correcting a moving direction angle of the pedestrian. A signal receiver(10) estimates the position of a pedestrian using a satellite signal from a satellite. A sensor unit(11) detects a first moving direction angle through a terrestrial magnetism sensor. A controller(12) confirms the reception state of the satellite signal and calculates a second moving direction angle using the estimated position of the pedestrian. The controller corrects the first moving direction angle detected through the terrestrial magnetism sensor using the second moving direction angle. The controller produces a linear equation passing through the estimated position of the pedestrian using a line fitting calculation method. The controller calculates the second moving direction angle by producing a slope of the linear equation.
