Provided is a production method of a membrane-electrode assembly which is capable of improving dispersibility of a hygroscopic inorganic matter on a binder phase of a polymer inside an electrode. The membrane-electrode assembly comprises a first electrode containing an electrode catalyst, a hydrogen ion conductive hydrocarbon binder resin, and a silica precursor dispersed in the binder resin; a second electrode; and an electrolyte membrane inserted between the first and second electrodes. The manufacturing method of the membrane-electrode assembly comprises the steps of converting the silica precursor into polymerized silica by supplying hydrogen ions or hydronium ions, and water to the first electrode of the membrane-electrode assembly and inducing hydrolysis and polymerization of the silica precursor. PURPOSE: A manufacturing method of an electrode is provided to exclude a phosphoric acid doping process in manufacturing electrodes, to reduce electrode-drying time, and to reduce cost or organic solvent for manufacturing electrode catalyst slurry. CONSTITUTION: An electrode for fuel cells comprises an electrode support and a catalyst layer formed on the electrode support. The catalyst layer comprises a catalyst material and an aqueous binder. The aqueous binder includes at least one selected from cellulose derivatives and composites of an organic polymer material and inorganic oxide. A manufacturing method of an electrode comprises a step of coating or printing catalyst slurry on an electrode support. The catalyst slurry comprises a catalyst material and an aqueous binder.
