Abstract:
Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for visible light wireless communications. The method for visible light wireless communications according to the present invention comprises the steps of: comparing a symbol of a transmission signal with a symbol clock synchronized with the symbol to determine whether the comparison result represents a beginning portion of the symbol; setting a sample index representing the order of samples sampled from the symbol of the transmission signal at predetermined frequency intervals, an accumulated signal value of the accumulated area of the first half of the symbol, and an accumulated signal value of the accumulated area of the latter half of the symbol, depending on whether the comparison result represents the beginning portion of the symbol; comparing the sample index with the middle point of the symbol of the transmission signal to determine whether the comparison result belongs to the accumulated area of the first half or the latter half of the symbol, and accumulating the samples of the transmission signal according to positions to which the sample index belongs; comparing the sample index and a sample index per symbol, and checking if the sample index equals to the sample index per symbol to determine whether the comparison result represents an end portion of the symbol; and outputting a variable pulse position modulation (VPPM) communications signal corresponding to the transmission signal, depending on whether the comparison result represents the end portion of the symbol. [Reference numerals] (AA) Start; (BB.EE.FF.II) Yes; (CC,DD,GG,HH) No; (JJ) End; (S10) Symbol clock; (S15) Beginning of the symbol?; (S60) End of the transmission?
