An FIC(Fast Information Channel) generating unit(209) generates an FIC based on MCI and SI information which is received from an multiplex managing unit. A transmission frame configuring unit(211) configures a transmission frame to the MSC which is generated from the MSC generating unit. A DMB(Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) modulating unit(213) receives the transmission frame from the transmission frame configuring unit.

Abstract: PURPOSE: Transmission apparatus and method for a subscriber network in a cable network are provided to simply form the head end of the cable network by forming identical transmitting scheme for broadcast and communication services. CONSTITUTION: A passive optical network receiver(222) receives data packets from a head end through an optical line using optical wavelengths. A micro cable modem termination system(CMTS)(224) converts the data packets into a data over cable service interface specification(DOCSIS)-based frame. The DOCSIS-based frame is transmitted to subscriber units(260, 270) through a coaxial line. The micro CMTS provides the data packets to corresponding service groups according to the optical wavelengths.
