PURPOSE: A head-end apparatus for cable network and a video processing method are provided to economically process various types of video service flows flowing into a head-end using the miniaturized head-end apparatus. CONSTITUTION: A head-end apparatus for cable network comprises the following: an M-CMTS(modular-cable modem termination system)(112) outputting a video stream based on the DOCSIS(data over cable service interface specification); a video processing unit(200) processing one of the video stream selected from the video stream based on the DOCSIS, a MPEG-2 TS video stream, or a video stream on IP(internet protocol) network; and a cable modem(130) receiving the processed video stream using HFC(hybrid fiber-coaxial) network(120).
Abstract:
PURPOSE: A head-end apparatus of a cable network and CMTS(Cable Modem Termination System) are provided to control and process high speed service flows in real time by constructing minimized CMTS in the cable network. CONSTITUTION: A slave CMTS(234) is belonged to a master CMTS(232). Service flows processed by a slave CMTS is included in a MAC(Medium Access Control) domain of the master CMTS. The master CMTS informs information related to the creation, change, and delete of the service flow to the slave CMTS. The master CMTS transmits master information to the slave CMTS.

PURPOSE: A transmitting method of stereoscopic video information and an apparatus thereof are provided to supply stereoscopic video information of various forms. CONSTITUTION: An information generating unit(910) generates a signaling table including video related information. A transmitting unit(920) transmits a signaling table and the image. The signaling table includes stream type information, a stereoscopic program information descriptor, or an additional stereoscopic video stream descriptor.

PURPOSE: A channel allocation method and an apparatus thereof are provided to dynamically allocate necessary transmission band in order to transmit mass broadcasting content. CONSTITUTION: Input content is decoded(S210). A transmission band is allocated for transmitting content based on a transmission parameter(S230). The transmission parameter includes the kind of the content, necessary transmission band, and a QoS(Quality of Service) parameter. Transmission band and channel information is transmitted to program service information(S240).
Abstract:
PURPOSE: A method for transmitting broadcast program information is provided to eliminate disturbance due to existence of a broadcasting program which does not support a multi service when a sub terminal searches information about a broadcast program. CONSTITUTION: A digital broadcast head end generates multi service information about each broadcast program(S1). The digital broadcast head end generates broadcast program information including the generated multi service information(S2). The digital broadcast head end transmits the generated broadcast program information to a main terminal at home through a communication network(S3).

PURPOSE: A method for non real time stereoscopic video service and a device thereof are provided to synchronize a reference video and an additional video when time information of a target playing video frame is not acquired. CONSTITUTION: A broadcasting receiving device extracts a PAT(Program Association Table) in a received MPEG-2 TS(Transport Stream)(S210). The device extracts a PMT corresponding to a selected program from the MPEG-2 TS(S220). The device extracts a stereoscopic service descriptor from the extracted PMT. The device analyzes information analyzed by the stereoscopic service descriptor(S230). The device generates a playing video frame and time information(S240). The device acquires additional information corresponding to a reference information form a storage device(S250).

PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for synchronizing a 3D image are provided to automatically synchronize a 3D image if a frame of a left image is not synchronized with a frame of a right image. CONSTITUTION: A 3D image synchronization device determines a reference area of a first image and a corresponding area of a second image(S100). Specific values of the reference area and the corresponding area are calculated(S200). A frame difference value is extracted between the first image and the second image(S300). PURPOSE: A method for transmitting 3D video service related information in the digital broadcasting system is provided to identify 3D service related additional information only with SI(System Information) without receiving a video stream on a receiver. CONSTITUTION: A transmitter generates a frame packing arrangement SEI(Supplemental Enhancement Information) message(S110). The frame packing arrangement SEI message includes video and audio service related information. The transmitter includes the frame packing arrangement SEI message in an additional ES(Elementary Stream). The transmitter transmits the frame packing arrangement SEI message to a receiver(S120).
