Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the carrying efficiency by excluding the loss time in replacement of racks in a system for carrying the racks holding a plurality of test tubes. SOLUTION: In an automatic dispenser 12, a dispensing area 30 and a buffer area 32 are provided on a carrying line 18. After the dispense into each test tube in a rack 34 located in the dispensing area 30 is completed, the rack is moved to the dispensing area from the buffer area 32. Then, this operation is repeated. After the dispensing to the last test tube in the rack 34 is performed, the rack replacement is not immediately performed as in the conventional method, but the rack is replaced after the suction for the first test tube of the rack 36 in the buffer area 32 is performed. Thus the stopping of the dispensing operation at the replacing time of the racks is prevented. When the dispensing error occurs, the secondary dispensing is performed for the rack held in the dispensing area 30.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide an automated pipette having the capability of charging a sample so that the liquid level thereof can be uniform concurrently with a partial charge. CONSTITUTION:A sample is drawn into a tip 36, and an XYZ robot is operated to shift a nozzle section 32 to the prescribed position of the well 80 of a protein division vessel. Furthermore, while the nozzle section 32 is being moved to a different position in the well 80, the piston of a cylinder connected to the tip 36 is pushed, thereby delivering the sample from the tip 36. In the case of sample delivery via a two-point shift, the nozzle section 32 is moved to the P1 position of the well 80 on the operation of the XYZ robot, and the half of the intake amount of the sample is delivered. Then, the nozzle section 32 is moved to a P2 position for the delivery of a remaining half amount.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To measure viscosity simultaneously with the sucking of red blood cell component in a dispensing device for a blood sample. CONSTITUTION:In red cell dispersing process, a controller 84 firstly draws a piston 76 to cause specified initial suction pressure. A pressure sensor 54 monitors the inner pressure of air tube 44. A viscosity sensing part 86 measures the time to reach a specified pressure beta after giving the initial suction pressure and calculates the viscosity of the red cell component from the reaching time by refering to a table 88. The relation between the reaching time and viscosity is contained in the table and the relation is almost in proportion.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To achieve a highly accurate distribution eliminating effect during the removal of a distribution liquid attached to the circumferential surface of the tip of a distribution nozzle, by sucking a small amount of air to form an air layer after a specified amount of the distribution liquid is sampled with the nozzle. CONSTITUTION:A specified amount of a specimen such as serum, a reagent or the like as distribution liquid is sampled and distributed with a distribution nozzle. Here, first, the distribution nozzle 32 is filled with a dilution liquid 26 and a small amount of air is sucked into the tip thereof to form an air layer 40a. Then, under such a condition, the nozzle is inserted into a sample 42 to suck it by a specified amount and further sucks a small amount of air to form an air layer 40b. Then, with the subsequent rising of the nozzle 32, a sample 42a attached to circumferential surface of the tip of the nozzle 32 is sucked away through a suction port 38 depending on a vacuum pressure. Thus, a highly accurate distribution can be done without affecting the sample 42 sucked when the attached sample 42a is removed.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically judge whether or not the formation of a solution is proper when the solution is formed by injecting an addition liquid in a target substance. SOLUTION: A small piece 100 of filter paper is charged in a test tube and a dissolving liquid is injected in the test tube in a first liquid amount to form such as a state that fibers of the small piece 100 of the filter paper are scattered and, thereafter, the dissolving liquid is forcibly injected in the test tube in a second liquid amount. Photometry is carried out with respect to the solution brought to a turbid state and, on the basis of the measuring result, it is automatically judged whether the forming treatment of the solution is proper. The same technique can be adapted even to such a case that a diluted solution is formed other than the formation of the dissolving solution.

At the same time, data on the selected donor are displayed in the blood collection table unit 14, and an acceptance card 66 is issued. When the preparation for blood collection is completed, the data in the acceptance card 66 are read by a bar code reader 70, and based on the reading, the name of the donor is called. Blood collection tubes for emergency and for hospital wards are carried to a storage unit 18. The bar code label may be pasted to a blood collection tube by hand.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To feed a gathering coupler safely and smoothly, by vertically holding cylinder parts for storing stackedly plural gathering couplers, and tacking out them one by one separately by a separation mechanism installed on a lower-side opening. SOLUTION: A stand 8 vertically holds cylinders 12 for storing stackedly, for example, twenty-four gathering couplers 10. Fingers are inserted into a slit between fingers 14A, 14B installed on the lower end side of the cylinder 12, and a gathering coupler 10 at the lowest layer is picked out one by one. In this case, the stand 8 is composed of a base 9, a strut 18, and horizontal arms 20, 22 connected to the strut 18, and a plurality of cylinders 12 are held by the horizontal arms 20, 22 so as to be put on and taken off freely. Each horizontal arm 20, 22 are rotatably relative to the strut 18 by a bearing mechanism, and the cylinders 12 are made of paper from environmental consideration for disposal. The gathering coupler 10 is used in gathering a blood sampler without taking off a stopper from a vacuum blood-gathering tube, and stored stackedly with a needle placed on the center pointing downward, and thereby can be treated safely.

While one rotor is rotating, the tubes in the other rotor are exchanged. Moreover, the prescribed rack conveyance is performed while the corresponding rotor is rotating.
