    Abstract: The compounds of the general formula I where X is fluorine, chlorine, bromine, SO2E or unsubstituted or substituted hydroxyl or mercapto, E is alkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkyl, aralkyl, aryl, chlorine or unsubstituted or substituted hydroxyl or amino, Y is cyano, nitro, alkanoyl, aroyl, alkylsulfonyl, arylsulfonyl, carboxyl, a carboxylic ester group or unsubstituted or substituted carbamyl, T is hydrogen, C1-C4-alkyl, a radical which can be introduced by electrophilic substitution or a radical of the formula -CH=B, in which B is a radical of a methylene-active compound or of an amine, and K is a radical of a coupling component, are very useful for dyeing synthetic fibers or plastics.

    Abstract: The invention comprises dyes of the formula where A is an anthraquinone radical free from sulphonic acid groups, G is hydrogen or alkyl of 1-4 carbon atoms, X is hydrogen, methyl or an aromatic or heterocyclic radical, p is 1-4, the radicals X being identical or different when p is greater than 1. The compounds are prepared by reacting an anthraquinone dye containing at least one acylatable amino group, but free from sulphonic acid groups with a compound of the formula where Hal is Cl or Br, any unreacted amino groups being acylated with other aromatic acid halides.ALSO:Compounds of the formula where hal is Cl or Br and X is H, CH3, phenyl, p-chlorophenyl, p-bromophenyl, p-nitrophenyl-phenylazophenyl, p-nitrophenylazophenyl or are used to prepare dyes (see Division C4). Some of these compounds are stated to be novel. They are obtained from trimellithamides by reaction with thionyl chloride, thionyl bromide or phosgene.
