Abstract: Triazolyl-glycol ether derivs. of formula (I) and their salts and metal complexes are new: In (I), R' is 5-isoxazolyl-methyl opt. substd. by halogen or 1-4C alkyl; R2 is halogen; and n = 1 or 2. (I) are fungicides which are well tolerated by plants. They are active against a broad spectrum of phytopathogenic fungi and in some cases are systemically active. They can be used as foliar and soil fungicides, but are partic. useful as seed dressings.

Abstract: Imidazolidine-2,4-dione derivs. of formula (I) are new: (whre X and Y are Cl or F; R1 and R2 are H or lower alkyl or are directly bonded together or form a (CH2)n gp., where n is 1-6). Cpds. (Ie are active against a wide range of phytopathogenic funig, e.g. Plasmopara, Pseudoperonospora, Phytophthora Pythium, Botrytis, Septoria and Venturia spp., as well as Aspergillus niger. Some also have bactericidal activity. They can be used for plant protection, as industrial fungicides (e.g. in paints or plastics), or as wood preservatives. A typical cpd. is 1-dichlorofluoromethhylthio-3-trichloromethylthio-hydantoin. In an example, this is prepd. from 3-trichloromethylthio-hydantoin and dichlorofluoromethylsulphenyl chloride.

Abstract: Metal complexes of formula (I) are new: (where M is metal, R1 is =7C alkyl, alkoxyalkyl, 3-7C cycloalkyl or opt. substd. aryl, R2 is furanyl, thienyl, naphthyl, biphenyl or phenyl (opt. substd. by halo, 1-4C alkyl, 1-3C alkoxy, alkenyloxy, NO2 or CF3), X is N or CH, Y is inorganic acid anion, n is 1-4). (I) are prepd. by reacting a beta-azolylketone with MYn. -mH2O (m = 0-4) in a solvent. They are fungicides more effective than known metal azole complexes. They are useful as foliar or soil fungicides (with a partly systemic effect) and as disinfectants. For control of mildew they are esp. used as synergistic associations with e.g. N-tridecyl-2,6-dimethylmorpholine or 2-bromobenzanilide. A typical cpd. is bis-(1-(1,2,4-triazol-1-yl))-1-(2-furyl)-4,4-dimethylpentan-3-one- ) CuII chloride was prepd.

Abstract: Prodn. of N-substd. morpholinium salts of formula (I) comprises cyclisation of bis (2-hydroxyalkyl)ammonium salts of formula (II) by dehydration at pH 2-6. R1HN+(CHR2.CHR2.OH)2 n Xn- (II) In the formulae, R1 and R2 are each aliphatic group, R2 can also be H and R1 can also be cycloaliphatic, araliphatic or aromatic group; X is an acid anion; n = 1 or 2. Free morpholine bases corresp. to (I) are useful for making surfactants, anticorrosion agents and plant-protection agents. (I) are prepd. without use of large amts. of acid, special solvents, or catalysts from readily available starting materials. Yields and purity of (I) are better than in known processes, esp. impurities which can damage plants are not produced.
