    Abstract: The present invention relates to a compact polyurethane having a density of ≥ 850 g/l, which is obtained or can be obtained by reaction of at least the components: i) polyisocyanate composition; ii) polyol composition, comprising at least one polyether polyol (ii.1), which is obtained or can be obtained by reaction of ii.1.1) a polyol starter with a functionality of 3 to 6 with ii.1.2) propylene oxide and/or butylene oxide, in the presence of a boron-based fluorine-containing Lewis acid catalyst (ii.1.3), wherein the polyether polyol (ii.1) has an equivalent molecular weight of 50 to 150 g/mol, ii.1.4) optionally further auxiliary materials and/or additives. The invention further relates to a method for producing a compact polyurethane of this type and to compact polyurethanes which are or can be obtained by this method. The invention additionally relates to the use of a compact polyurethane of this type having a density of ≥ 850 g/l for the production of a fibre-reinforced composite material. The invention likewise relates to a corresponding fibre-reinforced composite material and a method for producing a fibre-reinforced composite material of this type.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for production of artificial leather comprising top coat, polyurethane layer and optional substrate layer, said process comprising i) providing a release layer, ii) applying one or more than one layer of a top coat to the release layer to an overall top coat layer thickness in the range from 1 to 500 ?m, iii) applying first polyurethane system components comprising an isocyanate component (A) and a polyol component (B) to the top coat to form a first polyurethane layer, wherein the isocyanate index of the first polyurethane system components is in the range from 101 to 140, iv) optionally applying further polyurethane system components to the first polyurethane layer to form further polyurethane layers, v) optionally applying a substrate layer to the polyurethane system components, vi) curing the polyurethane system components to form a polyurethane layer, and vii) separating the release layer from the top coat, wherein the overall thickness of the first and optionally further polyurethane layers is in the range from 0.01 to 20 mm and the polyurethane system components are solvent-free. The present invention further relates to an artificial leather obtainable by such a process and to the use of the artificial leather as upper materials for footwear.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing a polyurethane material, wherein (a) di- and/or polyisocyanates, (b) compounds that have hydrogen atoms reactive with isocyanate groups and that do not contain any compounds having carbon-carbon double bonds, (c) compounds containing at least one carbon-carbon double bond, (d) optionally a catalyst that accelerates the urethane reaction and (e) optionally further auxiliary agents and additives are mixed to form a reaction mixture and are cured at temperatures of greater than 120 °C. The compounds having hydrogen atoms reactive with isocyanate (b) have on average at least 1.5 hydrogen groups reactive with isocyanate per molecule, and the compounds having a carbon-carbon double bond (c) contain compounds (c1) that have at least one carbon-carbon double bond and at least one group selected from groups reactive with isocyanate or from isocyanate groups and/or (c2) that have at least two carbon-carbon double bonds. The reaction mixture is stabilized to such an extent that the polyurethane material that is obtained after mixing of components (a) to (c) and, if present, (d) and (e) at room temperature, injection into a metal mold temperature-controlled to 80 °C and having the dimensions 20 cm x 30 cm x 0.4 cm, demolding after 60 minutes and cooling to room temperature, has a heat distortion temperature (three-point bending at 0.45 MPa extreme fiber stress according to DIN EN ISO 75) that is at least 15 °C lower than the heat distortion temperature of the identically produced polyurethane material which, after production, is additionally thermally treated for 120 minutes at 150 °C in a furnace and subsequently cooled to room temperature. The invention further relates to a polyurethane material that can be obtained by a method of this type, and to the use of the polyurethane material, in particular a polyurethane fiber composite material, as structural components.
