    Abstract: PURPOSE:To miniaturize a variable magnification copying apparatus and improve its optical performance by forming an optical system in which postions of an object point and image point are fixed irrespective or variable magnifications so that the chief ray nonparallel with an original platen is inclined to the optical axis. CONSTITUTION:The main beam nonparallel with an original platen by scanning of an original 1 by way of the 1st, 2nd scanning mirrors 2, 3 go through the optical path inclined with respect to the optical axis of a transmittance lens 4, is reflected by stationary mirrors 5, 6, and images at the fixed image point S1 of a photosensitive drum 7. This mirror 3 is adjusted of its initial position according to variable magnifications and the object point position S0 is fixed irrespective of variable magnifications. At the same time, according to variable magnifications, the lens 4 is moved by a prescribed extent in the optical axis direction and the direction perpendicular to the optical axis and the image point S1 is fixed as well irrespective of variable magnficiations. The optical path length is made large by the chief ray optical path nonparallel to the original platen, and the moving extent of the mirror 3 at the vairable magnification is made small, whereby the constitution of the variable mangification copying device is made small. In addition, the effect of the spherical aberration of the lens is decreased by the inclination of the chief ray and the optical axis and the optical performance is enhanced.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To select plural recording styles by providing a mode selecting plural recording members different in size in accordance with the total number of pages of picture information and a mode selecting recording members the same in size irrespective of the total number of page. CONSTITUTION:Where the number of arranged pictures per one side of a recording sheet is two, for example, the total number of page sheets J satisfies J=4K+2 (K=0, 1...) in a two side recording mode, a sheet exists whose back is not recorded. Where in one side recording mode the total number of sheets J satisfies J=2K+1 (K=0, 1..., a sheet exists whose half area of one side does not form an image. Thus, in the two side recording mode, the titled device records images on both sides of the last sheet on the recording material of A4 size, while, in one side recording mode, the device records an image on one side of the last sheet on that of A4 size. By selecting modes which use the recording materials of A3 size irrespective of the total number of pages, plural recording styles can be selected in accordance with the total number of pages of the picture, and various styles in making books can be selected.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent useless paper binding even if an operator specifies paper binding without knowing the page of a desired file by inhibiting paper processing if image information read out of a file means has one sheet. CONSTITUTION:A paper binding device 18, a punching device 20 and a paper folding device 16 for a paper processor are connected to a recording device 14. If the operator wants to bind recording sheets, he outputs a paper binding command. When the image information is read out of the file in an optical magnetic disk device 12 and an image is formed on the recording material, the operator sets conditions for recording and paper processing. According to a printing command, a recording action is made. When an image is printed on the recording sheet at that stage and discharged to the paper processor, the paper binding action is inhibited if the total number of pages corresponding to read-out file information is one. Thus, even if a operator specifies the paper binding without knowing the page of the desired file, the useless paper binding can be prevented.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To form an image in the correct page order by inhibiting the modification of the order of pages forming images during a series of image forming actions in spite of the input of a means specifying the order of pages forming images on a recording material. CONSTITUTION:When sheets discharged from a recording device 14 are bound, the order of pages discharged outside the device 14 is so controlled that the surface which a paper binding needle presses comes to the 1st sheet. If an original has eight pages in a mode recording one image each on both sides of the recording sheet, pages with even numbers 2-4-6-8 are outputted in that order in terms of recording images on the surfaces, while in recording images on the backs pages with odd numbers 7-5-3-1 are outputted in that order. Until all the pages of at least one file are recorded, the modification of the binding direction, that is, the order of the pages is inhibited. Thus, even if papers are made into a hook, images can be formed in the correct page order.
