Abstract: The lens has a complex surface having a cylinder value normalized to the addition of less than 0.8 in a circle of radius 20mm with respect to the center of lens. The rebound in the sphere quantity normalized to the addition on the circle is less than 0.04, and the progression length defined between fitting cross and a point on the meridian at which the mean sphere reaches 85% of progression of the addition, is 14mm or less. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) method for correcting vision of presbyopic subject; and (2) method for fitting ophthalmic lens in visual equipment.

Abstract: A method for the determination by optical optimization of a personalized progressive ophthalmic lens intended to be inserted into a frame chosen by a given wearer for whom a power addition has been prescribed in near vision, the method comprising the stages of: - measuring parameters representing the frame chosen by the wearer; - choosing an initial distribution of power and resulting astigmatism defect targets for each direction of viewing under wearing conditions in an ordinary frame; - calculating transformation coefficients using the measured parameters representing the chosen frame and standard parameters; - calculating a personalized distribution of the power and resulting astigmatism defect targets on the lens by applying the calculated transformation coefficients to the initial distribution. The method makes it possible to retain the proportion of the distribution between the far-vision, near-vision and intermediate-vision zones whatever the size and the shape of the frame chosen.

Abstract: An ophthalmic lens has a complex surface with an optical centre, a fitting cross (FC) situated 4 mm above the optical centre, a meridian having a power addition between reference points in far vision (FV) and in near vision (NV). The complex surface has a mean-sphere difference normalized to the addition on the meridian, between the geometric centre of the lens and the control point in far vision, less than or equal to 0.1; a progression length less than or equal to 14 mm; a rebound of the sphere quantity normalized to the addition on a circle with a radius of 20 mm centred on the geometric centre of the lens less than 0.11, and a maximum slope of the sphere variation normalized to the addition along the meridian comprised between 0.9 and 0.11 mm -1 . The lens is suited to broadened far vision with a good accessibility to near vision.

Abstract: A method for defining a supplementary face for spectacles (or clip-on), comprising the steps of: i) choice of a lens suited to the wearer's prescription; ii) modelization of the position of the chosen lens and of the position of a supplementary face in front of the chosen lens; iii) choice of an optical function for the assembly of the chosen lens and supplementary face; iv) calculation of the characteristics of the supplementary face by optical optimization for a standard wearer, using the chosen optical function as optimization target. A supplementary face for spectacles, having: i) a detachable mounting device, suited to the detachable mounting of the supplementary face in front of a lens mounted in the spectacles; ii) a surface at least equal to the surface of the lens and iii) a continuous optical power variation over this surface.
