    Abstract: Les variations de puissance optique et d'astigmatisme d'un verre ophtalmique progressif (10) résultent d'une part de variations de sphère et de cylindre de la face antérieure (2) du verre, et d'autre part de variations d'une autre grandeur physique du verre. Il est alors possible de personnaliser le design du verre progressif en fonction d'au moins une caractéristique comportementale d'un porteur du verre. Cette personnalisation peut être effectuée en reprise, en modulant des valeurs de la grandeur physique entre des points différents du verre. Des verres progressifs ayant des designs différents peuvent ainsi être obtenus à partir de verres semi-finis identiques. La grandeur physique peut être la sphère et le cylindre de la face postérieure du verre (3).

    Abstract: A progressive multifocal ophthalmic lens has a complex surface having a prism reference point, a fitting cross, a progression meridian having a power addition greater than or equal to 1.5 diopters. The lens has, under conditions when being worn: - a reduced root mean square, normalized to the addition prescription, of less than 0.65 microns per diopter in a zone delimited by a circle centred on the prism reference point and with a diameter corresponding to a sweep of vision of 80~, - a progression length of less than or equal to 25~, and - a difference in normalized reduced root mean square between pairs of symmetrical points relative to a vertical axis passing through the fitting cross of less than 0.12 microns per diopter in a zone delimited by a semi-circle centred on the fitting cross and with a radius corresponding to raising viewing by 25~.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a progressive ophthalmic lens and to a method of producing one such lens. Variations in the optical power and the astigmatism of a progressive ophthalmic lens (10) result from (i) spherical and cylindrical variations in the anterior face (2) of the lens and (ii) variations in another physical unit of the lens. In this way, it is possible to customise the design of the progressive lens as a function of at least one behavioural characteristic of the lens wearer. Said customisation can be repeated by modulating the values of the physical unit between the different points of the lens. As a result, progressive lenses with different designs can be obtained from identical semi-finished lenses. The physical unit can comprise the sphere and the cylinder of the posterior face of the lens (3).
