Abstract:
A method for visualization of multi-channel audio signals, a method for converting audio information by using a spatial cue, and an apparatus thereof are provided to visualize reproducing processes of the multi-channel signals and apply variation of the spatial cue to generation of the multi-channel signals, thereby reproducing realistic multi-channel audio signals and adjusting a position of a visual audio source of an audio signal. An apparatus for visualization of multi-channel audio signals, and converting audio information by using a spatial cue comprises the following parts: a SAC(Spatial Audio Coding) which is constituted with a SI decoder(102) for decoding the spatial cue and SAC decoder(101) for synthesizing multi-channel signals; a spatializer(103) and a visualizer(104) for receiving the decoded spatial cue information; and a displayer(105) for receiving a panning angle and power gain information of each channel.
Abstract:
A method for compressing and decompressing a multi-channel signal using virtual source location information (VSLI) on a semicircular plane is provided. VSLI, rather than inter channel level difference (ICLD), is used as spatial cue information, thereby minimizing loss caused by quantization of spatial cue information, improving sound quality of a decompressed audio signal, and reproducing an excellent audio signal by reducing distortion upon decompression of an original signal at a decoder spectrum.

The apparatus for adapting 2D and 3D stereoscopic video signal provides a user with the best experience of digital contents by adapting the digital contents to a particular usage environment including the user characteristic and terminal characteristic. Abstract:
A coding method of reducing interlayer redundancy using mition data of FGS(fine grain scalability) layer and device thereof are provided to extract a bitstream having changed scalability from a bitstream generated by using an FGS layer for interlayer motion prediction. A lower spatial layer of an original image is transformed and quantized(S1410). The motion of an upper spatial layer of the original image is predicted by using motion data of an FGS layer in the transformed and quantized lower spatial layer. The transformed and quantized lower spatial layer and the upper spatial layer are encoded. The motion data of the FGS layer is recovered(S1420). Interlayer motion prediction is performed by removing motion data of the upper spatial layer overlapping with the motion data of the recovered FGS layer(S1450).
