    Abstract: A cover assembly includes a mouthpiece including one end, that is configured to come into contact with a mouth of a user, and another end opposite to the one end, the mouthpiece configured to move to an open position and a closed position by rotation of the mouthpiece around the other end; and an accommodation unit for accommodating the one end of the mouthpiece in the closed position. The accommodation unit includes a button unit including a body, the button unit configured to contact the one end of the mouthpiece and to be displaced in a longitudinal direction based on the one end being pressed; and a locking unit including a body, the body of the locking unit including a first portion that is configured to contact the one end of the mouthpiece and a second portion that is configured to contact the button unit.

    Abstract: A method of counting the number of puffs using an aerosol generating device is disclosed. The may include obtaining a first start time which is a time when a pressure measured by a sensor included in the aerosol generating device decreases below a first reference pressure value; obtaining a first end time which is a time when the pressure measured by the sensor reaches the first reference pressure value after the first start time; determining whether a first period, which is a period between the first end time and the first start time, is longer than or equal to a first reference period; and increase the number of puffs by one based on the first period being longer than or equal to the first reference period.

    Abstract: An aerosol-generating apparatus includes a housing comprising at least one light-transmitting window configured to transmit external light to an inside of the aerosol-generating apparatus; a heating element comprising a plurality of nanoparticles configured to generate heat in response to light through Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR); a light source arranged inside the housing and configured to emit light toward the heating element; a sensor configured to detect a temperature of the heating element or a quantity of the external light transmitted to the inside of the aerosol-generating apparatus through the at least one light-transmitting window; and a processor configured to adjust a quantity of light received by the heating element by controlling the light source based on the detected temperature of the heating element or the detected quantity of the external light transmitted to the inside of the aerosol-generating apparatus.
