Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a combine harvester designed to simplify its control and improve its operating efficiency by vehicle speed control so as not to develop an excessiveness of the amount of a harvest to be sorted along with avoiding unnecessary change in the upper limit vehicle speed in case the combine harvester during reaping traveling is positioned close to its travel end. CONSTITUTION:A control means H increasing the throughput capacity as the amount of the harvest to be sorted dropping from a threshing chamber increases and conducting speed change operation in order to maintain the engine load detected by relevant means S7, H within a target load range, performs a vehicle speed control in such a state as not to exceed the upper limit vehicle speed set as the maximum value of the vehicle speed detected when the amount of a harvest to be sorted does not exceed the upper limit value of the throughput capacity; in case the amount of a harvest to be sorted exceeds the upper limit value of the throughput capacity, the set upper limit vehicle speed is corrected to a set lower vehicle speed when the remaining reaping travel relative to a planned reaping travel is longer than a set value; on the contrary, such correction is not made when the remaining reaping travel is shorter than the set value.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To carry out more proper steering control based on information on position of a machine body against stem culm lines and an advance angle of the machine body and to smoothly control steering even in the case of removal of a stem culm line from one detection region out of a pair of a right and a light steering control sensors especially because of absence of stock, etc. CONSTITUTION:A pair of right and left steering control sensors S1 and S2 for detecting lateral intervals between a culm separating tool attached to a reaping and treating part of the front of a machine body and stem culm lines on both sides of the culm separating tool are installed. A steering control means 100 for working steering devices 12R and 12L to make the culm separating tool take a proper state against stem culm lines controls steering based on information on the position against stem culm lines judged from difference between the detected values of both the sensors and the advance angle of the machine body against the stem culm lines distinguished from the change of the detected values of both the sensors and, in the case of removal of the stem culm lines from one detection region of both the sensors, the detected value of the sensor, whose stem culm lines get out of the detection region, is obtained based on the detected value of the other sensor, whose stem culm lines exist in the detection region and on the information of intervals of adjoining stem culm lines.

The steering control means 100 carries out steering control based only on information of the sensor selected from the plural sensors S1 and S2 by the selecting means SW2 or steering control based only on information of the sensors S1 and S2 judged as normal row intervals by the row interval detecting means 101.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To keep the judging accuracy of reaping style independent of the state of standing culms. CONSTITUTION:Culms are introduced into culm-introducing channels L1, L2, L3 of a reaping treatment part 3 and the space between the culms in the channels in the moving direction of the machine is detected with a space detection means K. When the detected space is narrower than a preset level, a judging means 101 of this apparatus judges that the reaping style is longitudinal reaping and when the detected space is wider than the preset level, the style is judged as lateral reaping. The space detection means K is composed of pass- detection sensors S1, S2, S3 to detect the passage of a culm through a specific position in the channels L1, L2, L3 and an operation means 102 to determine the space based on the passing information and the running distance information. As an alternative, the space-detection means K is composed of pass-detection sensors S1, S2, S3, a timer 103, a machine-speed detection means S4 and an operation means 102 to determine the space based on the passing information, timer information and the running speed information.
