    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fruits-sorting apparatus which handles fruits while keeping the stable posture of fruits and efficiently carries out packing-in-a-box treatment and with which enlargement of facility can be suppressed. SOLUTION: This fruits-sorting apparatus is provided with a sorting conveyer line A on which fruits w are mounted and transported, a judging apparatus to judge the quality of the fruits during the transportation on the sorting conveyer line A, a supplying conveyer line B to supply and transport the fruits w from the sorting conveyer line A to a packing-in-a-box part, and a transferring means 9 to transfer the fruits w on the sorting conveyer line A to the supplying conveyer line B based on the judgment information. The sorting conveyer line A is a bucket conveyer which conveys the fruits w while containing the fruits w in buckets 3 attached to a conveyer main body 2 and the supplying conveyer line B is a free carrier conveyer which conveys the fruits w while containing the fruits w on saucers c mounted on the conveyer main body 12 in freely movable manner.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To discriminate accurately keloid-like marks and other black spots and white spots on a surface to be separated of a foot or the like by generating halation on the surface of a matter to be separated by the light projected from a projector toward a matter to be separated, taking a photograph of the matter to be separated generating the halation by an image pickup camera and sensing whether gloss lowering sections are or not on the surface of the matter to be separated. SOLUTION: While keeping the mutual position relation between an image pickup camera 2 and a projector 3 so that regular reflection light is from the projector 3 emitted on the surface of a matter 1 to be separated such as a fruit is transmitted into the image pickup camera 2, the projector 3 is moved in the arc shape along an outer encorder of the matter 1 to be separated, and the matter 1 to be separated is photographed by the image pickup camera 2. An image in the state of generating halation is formed on the sections on which no keloid-like marks and other black and white spots are formed, while a normal image is formed on the sections on which marks are formed, and the keloid-like marks and other black and white spots are discriminated by collecting the difference of luminance of the images to separate the matter 1 to be separated.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the judgment precision of the grade of fruit and vegetables by a method in which the kinds of parameters of high correlation with the properties of the agricultural products are stored corresponding to the kinds etc., of the products, the properties such as weight of the products to be selected is estimated based on the parameters in comparison with the stored data. SOLUTION: In the grade judgment by a fruit and vegetables sorting apparatus, first the plane image of the agricultural product taken by a camera 1 is converted into a binary image, the density value of each picture element of the image is summed up, and the peripheral coordinates of the cross section of the product are detected by a data collection part. Next, the area is calculated by counting the number of picture elements by an area calculation part 41, the center of gravity of the product in the cross section is calculated, and the maximum and minimum diameters are calculated by a maximum diameter calculation part 43 and a minimum diameter calculation part 44. Next, in a weight estimation part 46, the weight of the product is estimated by using measuring parameter values stored in a memory 45, the estimated weight is compared with the threshold of each grade to judge the grade of the product, and the results of judgment are sent to a selection controller by a grade judgment part 47.
