A wireless device such as a user equipment (UE) may receive a first downlink shared channel transmission over a first set of frequency resources in a first transmission time interval (TTI); receive a downlink control transmission including a grant of a second set of frequency resources of a second TTI for a second downlink shared channel transmission, the downlink control transmission including an indication that a demodulation reference signal of the first downlink shared channel transmission is reused for the second downlink shared channel transmission; determine to rate match the second downlink shared channel transmission around resources of the second set of frequency resources that are not part of the first set of frequency resources, and receive the second downlink shared channel transmission over a subset of the second set of frequency resources.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A base station may allocate resources for communication with a user equipment (UE). The resources may include one or more subframes, and each subframe may include one or more shortened transmission time intervals (sTTIs). Each sTTI may be assigned a transmission direction according to a time division duplex (TDD) pattern. Based on traffic needs and/or interference from other UEs and/or base stations, the base station may determine to modify the TDD pattern used for communication. Accordingly, a base station may transmit an indicator in a control message or control region of a TTI or sTTI, to indicate to users that a transmission direction of an sTTI in the TDD pattern is being changed. Subsequently, a user may communicate with the base station according to the reconfigured TDD pattern.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described to enable a user equipment (UE) to determine a rate-matching scheme or a feedback scheme for overlapping downlink transmission resources. A collision handling scheme may enable the UE to de-rate match a second, higher priority downlink shared channel independent of another rate-matching pattern or indicator for other shared channels, such as a first, overlapping downlink shared channel. The UE may determine to de-rate match the second channel around resources indicated within control signaling or higher-layer signaling associated with the second channel. The collision scheme may provide for the UE to generate an acknowledgement bit for feedback for one or more portions of the first channel that are preempted by the second channel and generate other feedback for non-preempted portions. A base station may keep track of preempted resources and may retransmit preempted portions of the first channel.

Generally, the described techniques provide for efficiently determining whether to transmit an uplink transmission scheduled by a semi-static grant or a dynamic uplink transmission scheduled by a dynamic grant when the dynamic uplink transmission conflicts with the uplink transmission scheduled by the semi-static grant. In particular, if a user equipment (UE) determines that a dynamic grant is received within a threshold time before an uplink transmission scheduled by a semi-static grant, the UE may transmit the uplink transmission scheduled by the semi-static grant and refrain from transmitting the dynamic transmission. Alternatively, if the UE determines that a dynamic grant is received in advance of a threshold time before an uplink transmission scheduled by a semi-static grant, the UE may transmit the dynamic transmission and refrain from transmitting the uplink transmission scheduled by the semi-static grant.
