Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve luminous efficiency, longevity, and reliability by suppressing temperature rises of a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and an organic layer in an organic thin film EL element. SOLUTION: By letting each of the second electrodes 1, 2 contact to the positive electrode 33 and the negative electrode 34, resistance values of the positive electrode 31 and the negative electrode 32 are made to be reduced, and therefore when currents flow into the positive electrode 31 and the negative electrode 32, heat generation quantity are made to be reduced. By opening a through hole opposing to the second electrodes 1, 2 in the substrate surface of a rear face side substrate, by installing a member having a good thermal conductivity in this through hole in order to conduct the heat from the second electrodes 1, 2, and by installing a member in order to radiate the heat which is conducted by the member having a good thermal conductivity in the through hole opposing to the substrate face of the opposite side to the negative electrodes 32 among substrates of the rear face side, the heat generated at the positive electrode 31 and the negative electrode 32 and the heat generated at the second electrodes 1, 2 are made to be conducted through the member having the good thermal conductivity and to effectively escape from the member for heat radiation to the rear side of the organic thin film EL element.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain stabilized characteristic in a specified wavelength band by a method wherein heptamethine based cyanine dye and an organic dye, showing a high refractive index in a laser wavelength band and having a specified formula, are employed as the material of a recording layer, in a light recording medium employing the organic dye as a recording material. SOLUTION: In a light recording medium, having a recording layer on a substrate having light transmission property, the recording layer contains organic dye shown by two formulas. Here, Y shows hydrogen atom or either one of alkyl group or halogen atom, X shows either one of Br , I , CIO4 , BF4 , PF6 , SbF6 . Further, A shows either one of molecular group (organic dyes) shown by two kinds of specified structural formulas. Two kinds of organic dyes having a predetermined structure, are employed whereby the light absorption or reflection index is big and wavelength dependence is small in the wavelength band of 630-680nm, thereby permitting to obtain stabilized recording sensibility and signal modifying degree.

SOLUTION: The reversibly recording material comprises a photothermal recording layer 3 containing a side chain type polymer liquid crystal having higher isotropic phase transition temperature than glass transition temperature as a main body and formed on a base 1. In this case, light or heat is applied to the layer 3 that a polydomain structure of the crystal is frozen so that the layer 3 is transited to an isotropic phase state, which is frozen by quenching at the glass transition temperature or lower thereby to record information.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To improve the nonlinear optical characteristic by using the metallocene made of a specific transition metal or its derivative as the main component. CONSTITUTION: This optical material contains the metallocene made of a transition metal containing the center metal M having an odd number of electrons or having an even number of electrons and ten valence electrons (ten electrons on the valence orbit) or its derivative as the main component. In this optical material, the transition metal having an odd number of electrons is practically vanadium, niobium, tantalum, manganese, technetium, rhenium, cobalt, rhodium, iridium, copper, silver, or gold. The transition metal having ten valence electrons is nickel, palladium, or platinum. At least a part of the hydrogen or five- membered ring (cyclopentadienyl ring) of the metallocene may be substituted by the other group, and the tertiary nonlinear optical characteristic is improved when the substitutional group is the electron donative group such as the hydroxyl group or the electron attractive group such as the carboxyl group.
