CONSTITUTION:This device is comprised by forming a scale 3 on the main plane 1S of the substrate 1 in an optical waveguide device in which the optical waveguide 2 with high refractive index is formed on one main plane 1S of the substrate 1 for the substrate 1, and the end face 2B of the optical waveguide 2 on the light emission side is provided at the side inner than the end face 1B of the substrate 1 on the light emission side, and a laser beam emitted from the end face 2B of the optical waveguide 2 is diverged in the substrate 1, and it is emitted from the end face 1B of the substrate 1 as emitted light.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve an S/N of a beat signal noticeably along with a higher detection sensitivity by performing a phase modulation of a first laser light emitted from one end face of a semiconductor laser to generate a reference light. CONSTITUTION:While a reference light L5 is generated by a laser light L2 emitted at one end of a semiconductor laser 42, a laser light L1 emitted at the remaining one end irradiates an object 19 to be measured to generate a measuring light L7. Here, an optical path of the laser light L1 is separated from that of the measuring light L7. As a result, an intensity of the measuring light L7 can be improved while the mixing of non-modulation laser light and the return of the reflected light to the semiconductor laser 42 can be avoided effectively thereby improving an S/N of a beat signal FM1 noticeably along with a higher detection sensitivity.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a stable transmission characteristic by exchanging high frequency signals through a part electromagnetically coupling a microstrip having an odd-number-fold electric length close to the almost 1/2 wavelength of the high frequency signal to be transmitted and microstrip having the odd- number-fold electric length close to the almost 1/4 wavelength of that signal. CONSTITUTION:Between a rotary part 2 and a fixed part 4, the high frequency signals are exchanged through the electromagnetic coupling part electromagnetically coupling a microstrip 1 formed over the almost entire circumference having a length corresponding to the odd-number-fold electric length close to the almost 1/2 wavelength of the high frequency signal to be transmitted and a microstrip 3 having the odd-number-fold electric length close to the almost 1/4 wavelength of that signal. Thus, the stable transmission characteristic can be obtained with simple configuration while reducing fluctuation in the amplitude of the transmission characteristic accompanying the rotation of the rotary part 2.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To facilitate the assembly of the device by fitting and uniting a semiconductor laser directly on the opposite side of a transparent dielectric substrate from an optical waveguide. CONSTITUTION:The optical waveguide 12 is formed on the side of one main surface 11a of the dielectric base body 11, a semiconductor laser LD is fitted on the other main surface 11b, and the laser light Lb from the semiconductor laser LD is guided in the optical waveguide 12 through a curved holographic grating 13. Namely, a spread of the laser light Lb can be guided in the holographic grating 13 to wide area through the dielectric base body 11, so the holographic grating lens 13 is formed in such a shape that the wave front conversion of the laser light Lb is possible and the light can be guided as parallel light (a) to the optical waveguide 12. Therefore, the semiconductor laser LD can be fitted integrally and directly to the dielectric substrate 11. Consequently, the assembly is facilitated.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To highly precisely obtain a measuring result by modulating a light modulator by a sine wave modulating signal to form a reference light beam and measuring a speed on the basis of the light beam thereof. CONSTITUTION:A light source beam LA1 emitted from a laser light source 4 is modulated in light modulator 12 by a sine wave modulating signal S2 and a reference light beam LA3 is formed thereby. A reflecting light beam LA4 which is obtained by irradiating the beam LA1 on the vibrating surface of a speaker 3 is guided to a light detecting element 21 together with the beam LA3 and a light detecting signal So is obtained from the element 21. Components in which the angular frequency omega3 of the signal S2 of the signal So is made a center frequency is input in a countable circuit 39 through a BPF 30 and the components 30 in which 2omega3 is made a center frequency is extracted in a BPF 31 and input in a circuit 39 after they are converted into a low area in a multiplicating circuit 32. The output which corresponds to a vibrating speed of a speaker 3 from the circuit 39 can be obtained.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To easily prevent damage due to the excessive input of a receiving part and to scale down a device by controlling luminous energy outputted through a main optical wave guide based on light that a monitor emits. CONSTITUTION:The main optical wave guide 1 leading a light Li incident on a light input end 2 to a light output end 3 is formed on a dielectric substrate 1. An auxiliary optical wave guide 6 leading some of light transmitting through the wave guide 4 to a monitor light output end 5, and an auxiliary optical wave guide 7 comprising a light variable attenuator 10 controlling the luminous energy of the light transmitting through the wave guide 4 are formed. According to the output that a detector 20 detects the luminous energy of a monitor output light Lout', a control circuit 21 forms a control voltage Cin. The circuit 21 controls so that if the luminous energy of the incident light Lin is great, the quantity that an attenuator 10 attenuates can be increased. Thus a feed forward type AGC device can be easily constituted which can minimize a change in the luminous energy of a coming out light Lout.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a flat frequency characteristic over a wide frequency band by providing an end face conductor in electric continuity with a ground conductor opposed to a strip line conductor forming a microstrip line to the circumferential end face of a dielectric base forming each microstrip line. CONSTITUTION:The microstrip lines opposed to each other and arranged on a concentric circumference around the rotary center of a rotor part 10 are provided to opposed faces of the rotor part 10 and a stator part 20 and a high frequency signal is transmitted/received between the microstrip line of the rotor side and the microstrip line of the stator side. In this case, approximate waveguide structure is formed by ground conductors 11, 21 forming the microstrip lines. Thus, the energy propagation by the undesired parallel planar mode generated between the ground conductors 11, 21 of the dielectric base forming the microstrip lines is suppressed and a flat frequency characteristic over a wide band is obtained.
