Abstract: During recording inputted data are sequentially written into a memory (14) at one transfer rate and are read out at a second, higher transfer rate for recording on a record medium (2). The reading of the memory (14) is such that data in a preset first amount are successively read from the memory (14) to always ensure a write space in the memory (14) which has a capacity which is higher than a predetermined second amount when the amount of the inputted data stored in the memory (14) exceeds the first amount. During playback, the recorded data are reproduced at a second transfer rate, which is higher than a first transfer rate required for outputting the reproduced data, and are written in a memory (22). The thus written data are successively read out of the memory (22) as reproduced output data at the first transfer rate. The writing of the reproduced data to the memory (22) is controlled so that a second amount of the reproduced data is written into the memory (22) and an amount of reproduced data, not less than a first amount, is always stored in the memory (22) when the amount of the reproduced data stored in the memory (22) becomes not higher than the first given amount.

Abstract: The disk recording appts. sequentially inputs data to a memory (14) at one transfer rate. This data is subsequently read out at a second, higher transfer rate and recorded to disk (2). The amounts of data read from the memory are set so that there is a writing space in memory. During playback, the recorded data are reproduced at a rate, higher than the rate for outputting the data, and stored in a memory (22). Again the amount of data read always maintains a minimum amount of data in the memory (22).

An abnormality detection circuit (30) acts through a controller (7) to inhibit recording upon detection of abnormality. This performs a read out control of the memory.

Abstract: In a memory control device (12) for controlling write-in/read-out operation for memory means (13), a sector data storing area and an additive area are set in each of sector-based data storing areas in the memory means. A prescribed datum is stored in the additive area associated with the sector-based data stored in the sector data storing area. The access addresses for the additive area are generated on the basis of the sector count value when the sector data write-in or read-out is carried out in the memory means (13). The access addresses are calculated by the memory control device (12).
