SOLUTION: The magnetic disk is provided with a data zone 3a recorded with an information signal and a servo zone 3b formed with ruggedness answering to a control signal containing at least a servo signal and recorded with the control signal. In this magnetic disk, the floating amount of the head slider on the servo zone 3b is made larger than the floating amount of the head slider on the data zone 3a at the recording/reproducing time.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a read-only information recording medium of a high recording density, an information recording medium which allows recording and reproducing at the high recording density and an information detector which reads out such information. SOLUTION: A sensor 2 consisting of a resistor is mounted on a slider 3 floating on a disk 2 and produces output in correspondence to the projecting parts 4 formed on the disk 1. The sensor 2 is so arranged as to scan the top of the projecting parts 4 of the disk 1 slightly apart therefrom. If the disk 1 is assumed to rotate in the direction shown by an arrow R, the sensor 2 increases the release of heat energy at the front ends (a) of the projecting parts 4. The lowering of the temp. and the decreasing of the resistance value as well as the degrading of the output are resulted. The temp. remains constant while the heat applied on the resistor and heat radiation maintain equilibrium. The heat radiation decreases at the rear end (b) of the projecting parts 4. The elevating of the temp., the increasing of the resistance value as well as the increasing of the sensor output are then resulted. The projecting parts 4 formed in correspondence to the information on the disk 1 are detected by this mechanism.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lessen such probability that a fresh defect comes out to the surface even if the polishing surface is inclined, by the inclination of a base material during polishing or a part to be recessed by the formation of rugged patterns is further dug down from the molding surface, by successively depositing a first metallic film and a second metallic film on the base material and specifying the thickness of the first metallic film of the metal mold body, of which the smooth molding surface is obtd. by polishing the second metallic film. SOLUTION: The first metallic film 3 and the second metallic film 4 are successively deposited on the metal mold base metal 2 and the second metallic film 4 is polished, thereby, the defect 5 of the first metallic film 3 is embedded with the second metallic film 4 to obtain the smooth molding surface. The metal mold body 1 is thus obtd. The metal mold body 1 is so formed that the defect 6 of the cavity field in the first metallic film 3 is not exposed on the molding surface 7 even if the metal mold base material 2 inclines to incline the molding surface 7 at the time of polishing the second metallic film 4 by regulating the film thickness of the first metallic film 3 deposited on the metal mold base metal 2. The film thickness of the first metallic film 3 is specified to =4 μm.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely detect all over projection on a magnetic recording medium by transferring respective sliders in the direction of juxtaposing and detecting projections with respective projection detecting sensors. SOLUTION: A magnetic disk 1 is set on a rotating disk 112. The rotation of a spindle motor 111 of the rotating disk 112 is controlled by a rotation controller 113. A transferring stage 121 is controlled by a stage controller 126 so that the projection detecting sensor 128 mounted on an inner circumferential slider 125 positions in the inner circumferential edge of the disk 1. The stage 121 is transferred in the outer circumferential direction with the controller 126. A projection detecting signal is inputted into a signal comparing circuit 132 via a signal amplifying circuit 131 and compared with the magnitude of slice level from a slice level signal storage circuit 133. When the projection detecting signal is larger than the slice level signal or more, disk radius positional information is recorded on the recording medium 141 or the like and displayed in a displaying device 142 with a data output circuit 134.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a magnetic recording medium inspection apparatus by which a magnetic recording medium is inspected in a short time by a method wherein, even when the position of a head slider is changed on the magnetic recording medium, the head slider can be levitated always at a constant levitation amount. SOLUTION: A disk-rotation control part 132 controls the rotation of a magnetic disk 10 as an object, to be inspected, on the basis of control data from a measurement control part 131. A head control part 133 controls the position or the like of a head slider 110 on the basis of control data from the measurement control part. A signal processing cart 134 filters, processes and amplifies a measured signal, i.e., an output voltage, from a protrusion detection sensor 120 on which the head slider 110 is mounted, and it judges the level of the output voltage with reference to a preset comparison reference voltage so as to be sent out to the measurement control part 131 as measured data. Then, the measurement control part 131 adds the measured data from the processing part 134 to the control data, and it outputs position information or the like on a protrusion. Consequently, regarding the like slider 110 at a magnetic recording medium inspection apparatus 100, the levitation amount of the slider 110 is made always constant even when the speed of rotation of the magnetic disk 10 is not controlled.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect a projection on a magnetic recording medium by detecting a change of a temperature due to an energy obtained when a resistance body butts against the projection and detecting the projection. SOLUTION: In order to manufacture a projection detection sensor 1, first, a Permalloy film is formed by vapor deposition at a rear end of a head slider 5. The Permalloy film is the etched by dry etching thereby to form a resistance body 4. Lead wires 2, 3 are formed at both ends of the Permalloy film. A sensor 1 is constituted in this manner. The sensor 1 utilizes an energy converter into heat among an energy of the resistance body 4 generated when the resistance body 4 butts against a projection on a magnetic disk 6. The resistance body 4 is exposed at a surface of the slider 5. Therefore, the energy generated when the resistance body 4 butts against the projection on the magnetic disk 6 is directly converted into heat by the resistance body 4 because of no intervening substance. A detecting sensitivity of the sensor 1 is accordingly enhanced, so that even a minute projection can be detected by the sensor 1.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To cope with the rise of density of a magnetic recording medium such as a magnetic disk and to obtain a sufficient reproduced output. CONSTITUTION:A resist 8 is formed on the surface of a magnetic disk 5 consisting of a substrate 6 and a magnetic layer 7 laminated on the upper face of the substrate 6, and laser light is turned on/off synchronously with a clock pulse to cut the resist 8 in the outermost periphery of the magnetic disk 5. Each part of the magnetic layer 7 exposed by this cutting is subjected to etching treatment, and all of the resist 8 is removed, and a servo signal is written in the remaining magnetic layer 7 synchronously with the clock pulse.
