    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording and reproducing device and a recording and reproducing method by which both of the track name and the next are recorded by automatically copying the track name or the text to the text or the track name as to an optical disk where only either of the track name or the text of audio data is recorded. SOLUTION: The recording and reproducing device is provided with a microcomputer 13 that discriminates whether a track name of audio data or a text is recorded and generates one on the basis of the other when one of them is recorded, a memory control circuit 10, and a RAM 11 and records the generated track name or text onto an optical disk 20. Thus, the track name or the text is automatically generated to an optical disk to which the text or the track name is not recorded so as to save the trouble of data entry.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a method and an apparatus in which an economical burden is reduced by a method wherein auxiliary data is read out from a copy source disk, so as to be stored in a storage region and the auxiliary data is recorded, from the storage region, in a copy destination disk, which is loaded after the copy source disk is discharged. SOLUTION: Auxiliary data on a static image or the like which becomes an auxiliary data file which is independent of data on a piece of music or the like as a program is recorded in copy source disk 90, in addition to the data on the piece of music. As the recording region of the auxiliary data, 38 clusters are prepared inside a U-TOC, and the auxiliary data is JPEC- compressed and recorded here. When the copy source disk 90 is placed, a system controller 11 reads out the auxiliary data so as to be retained in a buffer memory RAM 13. After the copying operation of the auxiliary data is instructed, the copy source disk 90 is replaced by a new disk to be copied. Then, the system controller extracts desired data from the data in the RAM 13, and the data is recorded in a space area inside the U-TOC on the copy source disk 90, which is placed at present.

Thus, both the broadcast speech signal and the character information can be simultaneously recorded onto the recording medium without any difficulty in terms of time/timing or capacity for the recording operation. Divided regions, address information corresponding to these regions and the rotational numbers corresponding to the regions are set in advance as table information. The outermost shell record position is determined based on the end address information of sector zero of the U-TOC(User TOC) read from the MD 1. With reference to the table information, which region the record position of the outermost shell belongs to is judged and the corresponding rotational number is determined. The rotation of a motor 2 is controlled by the CAV system based on this number of rotation. Since data is adaptively set in accordance with the recorded region, high-speed disk drive is enabled. And in intermittent readout, further saving of power consumption is made possible.

CONSTITUTION:Suppose that a disk on which two musics are recorded is made up of segments 1-1, 1-2 for a 1st music and segments 2-1, 2-2, 2-3 for a 2nd music. Then unrecorded areas F-1-F5 are left. The areas F-1-F5 are linked in this order by a U-TOC and when a 3rd music is recorded, the music is recorded in the above-mentioned sequence. When the 2nd music is erased, the segments 2-1 to 2-3 are unrecorded areas. In this case, the segments formed to be new unrecorded areas are not linked to the final segment F-5 of the unrecorded area so far for the management but a new link structure is formed. That is, the unrecorded at the outermost circumference is set to a 1st segment and the others are linked from the inside in the order of address. Thus, segments F-1 to F-8 are formed.
