Abstract: The present invention relates a method for the production of an adhesive wherein said method comprise the following steps: providing a suspension comprising starch, swelling the starch by alkali or temperature treatment or by cooking the starch suspension to form a starch suspension, providing a suspension comprising microfibrillated cellulose which suspension has a solid content above 10%-by weight, adding the suspension comprising microfibrillated cellulose to the suspension comprising starch either before or during the swelling or the cooking of the starch or to the formed starch suspension to produce the adhesive. The invention further relates to a corrugated board and an adhesive.

Abstract: The invention concerns a fibrous-based oxygen barrier film, which comprises (i) a microfibrillated cellulose (MFC) film, (ii) an oxygen barrier polymer layer, (iii) an optional tie layer, and (iv) an outermost polyolefin layer. The invention even concerns a laminate, in which said multilayer film is combined with a fibrous paper or board base by means of an intermediate polyethylene layer. The oxygen barrier polymerlayer, which preferably is EVOH, and the polyolefin layer are brought by coextrusion onto the MFC film. The film and the laminate according to the invention aim at an improved oxygen barrier in high humidity conditions and have use in oxygen-sensitive food packaging.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a film having an oxygen transmission rate in the range of from 1 cc/m2/24 h to 500 cc/m2/24 h according to ASTM D-3985, at a relative humidity of more than 50% at 25° C., or higher than 75% at 25° C., or higher than 85% at 25° C., wherein the method comprises the steps of: providing a first suspension comprising a microfibrillated cellulose, wherein the dry content of the suspension is in the range of from 0.1 to 10% by weight, adding a wet strength additive to said first suspension, at an amount of from 0.1 to 10 weight-% based on the amount of microfibrillated cellulose (dry/dry), thereby forming a mixture of the microfibrillated cellulose and the wet strength additive, applying said mixture to a substrate to form a fibrous web and drying said web to form said film. The present invention also relates to a film produced according to the method.
