Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a luminous device which is excellent in brightness, color purity and a high luminous emission efficiency. SOLUTION: The device in which a luminescence substance exists between a positive electrode and a negative electrode and emits light by electrical energy, is a luminous device containing an organic phosphor which has an imidaso heterocyclic frame expressed with formula (1). R1-R2 may be same or may differ from each other respectively and they are chosen here from hydrogen, an alkyl group, a cycloalxyl group, an aralkyl group, an alkenyl group, a cycloalkenyl group, a alkynyl group, a hydroxyl group, a mercapto group, an alkoxyl group, an alkylthio group, an arylether group, an arylthioether group, an aryl group, a heterocyclic group, halogen, a haloalkane, a haloalkene, a haloalkyne, a cyan group, an aldehyde group, a carbonyl group, a carboxyl group, an ester group, a carbamoyl group, an amino group, a nitro group, a silyl group, and a siloxanyl group. Ar1 expresses the heterocylce.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a red light emitting element having high color purity by including at least a syrrole derivative having a fluorescence peak wave length being in a specific range and a compound having a pyrromethene skeleton or the metallic complex. SOLUTION: A light emitting material emits the light in a peak wave length of 580 nm to 720 nm by electric energy. This light emitting material includes a syrrole derivative having a fluorescence peak wave length of 540 nm to 720 nm and a compound having a pyrromethene skeleton or the metallic complex. The pyrromethene skeleton is expressed by the formula. In the formula, R1 to R7 may be the same or may be different, and are hydrogen, alkyl, alkoxy, halogen, aryl, aralkyl, alkenyl or the like, X is carbon or nitrogen, but in the case of nitrogen, R7 does not exist. B, Be, Mg, Cr, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Pt or the like are preferably cited as metal capable of coordinating with the metallic complex.

SOLUTION: A light emitting element comprises a compound expressed by a formula I or its metallic complex. In the formula I, R1-R6 can be the same or different and represent hydrogen, an alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, and the like, and at least one of R1-R6 is a group expressed by a formula II. In the formula II, at least one of R7-R9 is a heterocyclic group, and the rest is hydrogen, an alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, and the like, R7-R9 can be the same or different. As metal in a metallic complex of this compound, there are included Na, Li, B, Be, Mg, Al, Ga, Cr, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, In, Tl, Pt. It is preferable that the peak of emission wavelength when the light emitting element is formed of this compound is wavelength longer than 580 nm.
