    Abstract: PURPOSE:To enhance running durability of a film, obtain sufficient strength even in the case of a magnetic tape an improve an RF output by incorporating particles in the outermost layer of a bixially oriented laminated film with a laminated structure of three or more layers in such a manner that relationship between the mean particle diameter of specified particles and the thickness of the outermost layer is specified, and specifying the number of these particles. CONSTITUTION:Particles are contained in the outermost layer on at least one face of a biaxially oriented laminated film consisting of, for example, polyester and having a laminated structure of three or more layers, in such a manner that the mean particle diameter dmm of the particles and the thickness of tnm of the outermost layer have the following relation: 0.2d to 2X10 pieces/mm , and a coefficient DELTAn of axial orientation is +10 or more while an F-5 value in the longitudinal direction of the film is not less than 12g/mm .

In this case, the relation of 0.2d -2X10 /mm and the surface orientation coefficient fn of the film is 0.16-0.280. For example, the particles are added to a polyester film by polymerizing a slurry prepared by dispersing the particles in ethylene glycol with a dicarboxylic acid component.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain excellent slipperiness, abrasion resistance and electromagnetic conversion characteristics by a method wherein soft particles having low strength are included and, at the same time, surface projections, which are longer in longitudinal direction, are formed. CONSTITUTION:The film concerned has the lamination structure consisting of two or more layers. At least one side outermost layer part contains 0.005-3wt.% of organic polymer particles, the average primary diameter of each of which is 0.1-3mum and the strength S10 of each of which under 10% deformation is 0-10kgf/mm .     Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the high speed scratch characteristics and electromagnetic converting characteristics by incorporating inorg. particles and inactive particles each with a specified loading and a specified particle diameter on the outermost surface layer of a thin layer and forming projections based on both particles on the inside and outside of the outermost surface layer. CONSTITUTION:It is necessary to incorporate 0.05-2.0wt.% inorg. particles with a Mohs hardness of 6 or larger and a mean primary particle diameter of 0.005mum or larger and smaller than 0.3mum on the outermost layer part of a laminated polyester and internally deposited particles are formed by using the inorg. particles as nuclei to form fine projections on the surface of the outermost surface layer. It is also necessary to incorporate 0.05-2.0wt.% inactive particles with a mean primary particle diameter of 0.1mum or larger and 3.0mum or smaller in an inner deposited particle-incorporated layer. These are outer particles to form fine particles with a uniform height on the surface of the thin layer. It is necessary that the ratio of d/t wherein dmum is the mean primary particle diameter of the inactive particle and tmum is the thickness of the particle-incorporated layer is 0.05 or larger and 3 or smaller. It is possible to form required fine and uniform projections on the surface of the layer by keeping this relation while the inactive particles are properly kept on the outermost surface layer.
