Abstract: PURPOSE:To produce the high-strength article having low necking down effect, by re-orienting longitudinally a biaxially oriented film while static electrical charges are provided to both selvages. CONSTITUTION:Static electrical charge is applied to the both selvages of the biaxially oriented film between needle-like electrodes 6A, 6B and a feed roll 3 by corona discharge. Due to this static electrical charge, while the both selvages of the biaxially oriented film are attracted firmly to the surface of the feed roll 3, it is delivered in a direction shown by arrows, and it is re-oriented longitudinally between the heating feed roll 3 and a cooling and orienting roll 4.
