Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain fine particulate polymer having an orderly particle diameter distribution, by charging a liquid chamber provided with a piezoelectric element with a monomer, increasing the pressure in this chamber by applying a pulsed voltage to the element, discharging a fine particulate monomer from a nozzle and polymerizing and curing the monomer. CONSTITUTION:The front end of a liquid chamber 20 communicating with a feed tank 10 is provided with a nozzle 21 having fine holes. Liquid chamber 20 is surrounded with a piezoelectric element 22. After liquid chamber 20 has been filled to its front end with a monomer or an oligomer fed from the feed tank 10, a pulsed voltage from a means 23 for applying a pulsed voltage is applied to piezoelectric element 22 to allow it to contract inwardly as shown by the broken lines and generate a pressure in liquid chamber 20. In this way, fine particulate monomer or oligomer is discharged from nozzle 21 and is received by a receiver 30 filled with a liquid in which the monomer or the oligomer is not soluble. This monomer or oligomer is polymerized and cured to obtain fine particulate polymer.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively attach a splash free organic compound to an opticalarticle by vacuum evaporation or the like by covering the surface of the organic compound directly or indirectly via a gap with a fibrous material and heating it under vacuum. SOLUTION: The surface of an organic compound, which is an evaporating source, is heated under vacuum being coated with a fibrous material either directly or indirectly via a gap. The organic substance is acceptable so far as it is comparatively stable to heat, has a property to evaporate under vacuum and is able to form a coating film on a surface of a substrate after vapor deposition. From the viewpoint of uses, it is especially preferable that the substance can be converted to a stain-proofing agent with a water- or oil-repellent function, or a low refractive index film as an antireflection film. The fibrous material is required to produce no or only a small amount of discharged gas by thermal decomposition at the evaporation temperature of the organic compound. Metallic fiber, ceramic fiber, glass fiber, rock wool, asbestos fiber, carbon fiber, polyimide fiber, aromatic polyamide fiber or the like can be mentioned as its example.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a fluorine-containing silane compound which is the reaction product of a specific fluorine-containing alcohol with a multifunctional isocyanate and a specific silane compound and is useful as a coating material for stain-preventing articles having excellent stain resistance, abrasion resistance and film strength. SOLUTION: This fluorine-containing silane compound is a reaction product of a compound of the formula: Rf[(CH2)nOH]m [Rf is at least one organic group selected from a fluorine-containing oxaalkyl, a fluorine-containing alkyl, a fluorine-containing oxaalkylene and a fluorine-containing alkylene; (n), (m) are each 1-4] with a multifunctional isocyanate (for example, tolylenediisocyanate) and an aminosilane (for example, 4- aminobutyltriethoxysilane) or a hydroxylsilane (for example, hydroxymethyltriethoxysilane or a carboxysilane (for example, carboxymethyltriethoxysilane), wherein the compound of the formula is chemically structurally bonded to the silane compound through the multifunctional isocyanate.

SOLUTION: This fluorine-containing compound is obtained by reacting one or more kinds of compounds represented by the formula R1-Af-R1[Af is a divalent fluorine-containing organic group; R1 is (CH2)a-OR2 [R2 is H or the like; (a) is 1-4] e.g. a perfluroalkylene of the formula HO-(CH2)k-Bf-(CH2)k-OH [(k) is 1-4; Bf is (CF2)n (n is 2-12)]} with one or more kinds of silane compounds represented by the formula Si(R3)i (R4)j(OR5)4-(i+j) [R3 and R4 are each an organic group containing at least one of H, carbon, oxygen or fluorine; R5 is an organic group containing at least one selected from aliphatic, alicyclic and aromatic residues; (i) and (j) are each 0 or 1] [e.g. preferably a fluorine- containing silane represented by the formula CF3CH2Si(OCH3)3].

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a thin film having micro voids and an excellent antireflection property by preparing a film comprising a binder resin which contains a fluorine compound and an organic silicon compound as main components and a small particle. SOLUTION: As a fluorine compound, one having at least two polymerizing functional groups is preferable. An organic silicon compound, Si(R1)i(r2)j(r3)k(OR 4)4-(i+j+k) (wherein R1, R2 and R3 are each an organic group having at least one of H, O and F; R4 is an aliphatic, an alicyclic or an aromatic residue; (i), (j), (k) are each 0 or 1) is preferable. As a small particle, an inorganic oxide containing an element selected from Si, Al, Sn, Sb, Zn and Ti and an emulsion particle of magnesium fluoride, calcium fluoride or an organic compound can be used, but inorganic small particles are preferable. Usually 5-200 pts.wt. of a small particle is used against 100 pts.wt. of a binder resin. A thin film is obtained by dispersing or dissolving small particle and a binder and carrying out coating.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an article which has electricity controllability, reduces a reflection factor and improves scratch resistance by providing a substrate with a conductive hard coat film and a low refraction factor film. SOLUTION: The substrate is provided with the conductive hard coat film and the low refraction factor film. As the conductive hard coat film, coating containing the ultra fine-grains of metal such as antimony oxide, selenium oxide, titanium oxide or tungsten oxide or the ultra fine-grains of metal such as gold, silver, aluminium or chromium in an organic or inorganic binder or both organic and inorganic mixed binder is generally used. The ultra fine-grains of metal compound are added to the conductive hard coat film preferably by 0 to 80 wt.%, more preferably 50 to 75 wt.%. As the binder, a binder, which can be turned into three-dimensionally bridged state after coating, can be used for improving the hardness of the hard coat layer. Concerning the low refraction factor film, several specified compounds are used.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a thin optical film having a refractive index as low as a specified value or lower by curing a composition containing a fluorine compound having a perfluoro chain and having acryloyl groups and urethane bond residues as side chains. SOLUTION: There is provided a thin optical film prepared by curing a composition containing a fluorine compound represented by formula I and having a refractive index of 1.45 or lower. In formula I, n is 2-14; at least one of A1 to A4 is an organic group of formula II (R is H, F, CH3 or CF3 ; b is 1-4; and c and d are each 0 or 1), and the rest are hydrogen atoms. The compound of formula I is obtained by esterifying (meth)acrylic acid (chloride) with a fluorine compound. The film is made by mixing the compound of formula I with polyfunctional and/or monofunctional (meth)acrylates and applying the mixture desirably in the form of a solvent solution to a substrate and photocuring the wet film. The film should have a thickness of 30-700 nm and is used to easily obtain antireflection articles excellent in scratching resistance by using it on various displays, antireflection filters, lenses, etc.
