Abstract: Provided is a toner set comprised of a plurality of toners including a number of toners, at least one toner but less than all toners of the toner set comprising binder, colorant and fluorescence agent and remaining additional toners comprised of binder, colorant and free of fluorescence agent, wherein at least a first toner grouping and a second toner grouping of the toner set form a combination, the first and second groupings of the combination exhibiting a substantially same color under ambient light conditions upon image formation, the first toner grouping and the second toner grouping of the combination containing a different amount of the fluorescence agent, wherein upon exposure to activating energy, the fluorescence agent fluoresces to cause a visible change in the color of a pattern formed in an image by the first toner grouping as compared to the second toner grouping.

Abstract: A cholesteric display including a liquid crystalline mixture having a dipol ar dopant dissolved in the liquid crystalline mixture and the resulting mixture is reflecting light in the visible range of the spectrum when in planar state. In accordance with another aspect, a process includes forming a composition wit h a dipolar molecule to result in a liquid crystal dipolar dopant, and liquid crystal is added to the composition. In accordance with still another aspect, a device includes a liquid crystal composition includes a cholesteric liquid and a dipolar dopant. The liquid crystal composition is switchable between a focal-conic state and a planar state in the presence of an electric field and is stable in the respective state when the electric field is removed.

Abstract: An image forming method composed of: (a) providing a reimageable medium composed of a substrate and a photochromic material, wherein the medium is capable of exhibiting a color contrast and an absence of the color contrast; (b) exposi ng the medium to an imaging light corresponding to a predetermined image to result in an exposed region and a non-exposed region, wherein the color contrast is present betwe en the exposed region and the non-exposed region to allow a temporary image corresponding to the predetermined image to be visible for a visible time; (c) subjecting the temporary image to an indoor ambient condition for an image erasing time to change the color contrast to the absence of the color contrast to erase the temporary image without using an image erasure device; and (d) optionally repeating procedures (b) and (c) a number of times to result in the medium undergoing a number of additional cycles of temporary image formation and temporary image erasure.
