Abstract:
A near object detection (NOD) system includes a plurality of sensors, each of the sensors for providing detection coverage in a predetermined coverage zone. Each of the sensors includes a transmit antenna for transmitting a first RF signal, a receive antenna for receiving a second RF signal and a means for sharing the target data between each of the plurality of sensors in the NOD system.
Abstract:
A traveling control system with a state display apparatus is comprised of a speed range display disposed along a scale of a speedometer and a controller coupled with the speed range display. The controller commands the speed range display to display a set-condition speed range indicative that it is possible to set a vehicle traveling control, when the vehicle traveling control by the vehicle traveling control system is not set. The controller commands the speed range display to display a control-condition speed range indicative that it is possible to continue the vehicle traveling control, when the vehicle traveling control is set.
Abstract:
A video amplifier for a radar receiver includes a temperature compensating attenuator. The attenuator includes a temperature sensitive device, such as a thermistor, arranged in a voltage divider network and is coupled in cascade between two filter stages. Each of the filter stages has a bandpass characteristic in order to filter low-frequency leakage signals and provide sensitivity control based on frequency and thus range, while also filtering high frequency signals to reduce aliasing.
Abstract:
A system and technique for mounting a radar to a vehicle provides a mounting that does not interfere with the aesthetic appearance of a vehicle, that does not interfere with the aerodynamic performance of the vehicle, and offers optimal radar transmission efficiency. The vehicle can be an automobile or any other vehicle to which a radar system is applied.
Abstract:
A multiple beam array antenna system comprises a plurality of radiating elements provided from stripline-fed open-ended waveguide coupled to a Butler matrix beam forming network. The Butler matrix beam forming network is coupled to a switched beam combining circuit. The antenna can be fabricated as a single Low Temperature Co-fired Ceramic (LTCC) circuit.

Abstract:
A method for actuating a hydraulic brake system in a motor vehicle, in which a hydraulic brake pressure is generated specific to the wheel, data of a driving environment sensor system being taken into account for detecting the instantaneous lateral distance of the motor vehicle from the desired track.
Abstract:
A braking-system suitable for use on an automated vehicle includes a ranging-sensor, a braking-actuator and a controller in communication with the ranging-sensor and the braking-actuator. The ranging-sensor is used to detect an object proximate to a host-vehicle when the object resides in a field-of-view of the ranging-sensor. The field-of-view defines a bottom-edge of the field-of-view and a boundary of a conflict-zone, where the boundary corresponds to a portion of the bottom-edge. The a braking-actuator used to control movement of the host-vehicle. The controller determines a height of the object, determines a distance to the object, determines a range-rate of the object when the object is in the field-of-view, and activates the braking-actuator when an estimated-distance to the object is less than a distance-threshold, the height of the object is greater than a height-threshold, and the object has crossed the boundary and thereby enters the conflict-zone.
Abstract:
In a method and apparatus for the longitudinal and lateral guidance assistance to the driver of a vehicle, longitudinal guidance assistance is performed as distance regulation for regulating the distance between the vehicle and a preceding guide vehicle. Lateral guidance assistance is optionally carried out as an object tracking regulation for guiding the vehicle according to a displacement lane of a preceding guide vehicle, as a lane tracking regulation for guiding the vehicle along a marked driving lane, or as combined lane object tracking regulation. The lateral guidance assistance is then available only when the distance regulation is active and when the distance between the vehicle and the guide vehicle is smaller than a predefined distance limit and/or when a shaft angle as a viewing angle from the vehicle to the guide vehicle is smaller than a predefined angle limit.
