Abstract:
In an elevator system in which two cars operate in each shaft, there is obtained an elevator group control apparatus which is capable of providing efficient services while preventing collisions of cars in each shaft as much as possible. The elevator group control apparatus includes: a traffic detection part (1B) which detects data of car traffic generated in a building; a zone setting part (1C) which sets a dedicated zone and a common zone for each of upper and lower cars in accordance with the results of detection of the traffic detection part; an assignment decision part (1D) which decides a car to be assigned to a call generated at a hall in accordance with a call generation floor, a direction of the call, and a zone set by the zone setting part; an entry determination part (1E) which, when one of two cars in each shaft is coming into the common zone from its dedicated zone, determines, based on the position, the direction of movement, and the state of the other car in the same shaft, whether the one car in each shaft is permitted to enter the common zone; a passing-by instruction part (1F) which gives a passing-by instruction to a prescribed floor in the dedicated zone so as to make each car exit from the common zone to its dedicated zone after each car has entered the common zone; and an operation control part (1G) which controls operation of each car based on the results from the assignment decision part, the entry determination part and the passing-by instruction part.

A method of assigning destination calls to cars (A-F) in an elevator system (20) having a plurality of hoistways (21-23) in which there is more than one car in each hoistway includes determining (33) the time for each car to respond to the call Among the cars with an acceptable response time, a determination is made regarding (34) the amount of additional delay in the hoistway that assignment of the call to one car will impose on the either car in the same hoistway. The call is assigned to that car which creates the least additional delay for cars in any hoistway.

An elevator group supervisory control apparatus is obtained which can achieve efficient group supervisory control while preventing or reducing the possibility of collision and the safe stopping of an upper car and a lower car in one and the same shaft as much as possible. The apparatus includes a hall destination floor registration device 4 that is installed in each hall and has a destination floor registration function and a function of providing a predictive indication of a response car for each destination floor, a zone setting section 12 that sets priority zones and a common zone for each of upper and lower cars, an entry determination section 13 that determines whether the upper and lower cars can come into the common zone, a safe waiting section 14 that makes the cars 20 wait safely in accordance with the determination result of the entry determination section 13, a shunting section 15 that makes each car 20 move to a shunting floor as required at the instant when each car finished its service, a confinement time prediction section 16 that predicts a confinement time due to safe waiting when each car is assigned to a destination call generated in a hall, an evaluation value calculation section 17 that evaluates a waiting time, the confinement time, etc., upon assignment of each car, and an assignment section 18 that determines a final assigned car on the basis of the calculation result of the evaluation value calculation section 17.

An elevator group control apparatus to control an elevator system in which an upper car and a lower car serve in a single shaft and go up and down independently. If a new destination call is registered, a car travel range calculator provisionally assigns a car to the new destination call and calculates the travel range of the provisionally assigned car and the travel range of the other car in the same shaft. Based on the calculated travel ranges, an assignment candidate selector selects or rejects the car as a candidate for assignment to the new destination call. Later, several evaluation index values are calculated for each of the selected candidate cars. By comprehensively evaluating these calculated evaluation index values, a determination is made as to which car is to be assigned to the new destination call.

An elevator system controller for efficient group supervisory control while avoiding collisions between two elevator cars in service in a single elevator shaft. The elevator system controller includes a risk calculating unit for calculating a risk of a collision between elevator cars in the same shaft when the elevator cars are responding to a new call for service, a car assigning unit for assignment of an elevator car to respond to the new call based on the risk of collision, and an operation control unit for controlling operation of the elevator cars based on the assignment by the car assigning unit. The risk of collision is calculated for each car, and the risk is recalculated based on a possibility of a withdrawal of one of the elevator cars to a position in the shaft where no collision can occur, based on a predicted arrival time of a car at the floor requiring service. Cars that have high risks of collision when the remaining cars in the same shaft cannot be withdrawn in time to a safe spot are removed as candidates for assignment to respond to the new call. An evaluation is carried out using several evaluation indexes, in addition to the risk of collision, to decide which car is to be assigned to respond to the new call. If a determination of a traffic condition indicates low usage of the elevator cars, one car in each shaft is forwarded to a rest position and paused.

The control apparatus includes approaching direction traveling prohibiting means 1D for prohibiting the cars from traveling in a direction in which the cars approach each other in the same shaft, and door open standing-by means 1E for causing the car to stand by with its doors open if the car is prohibited by the approaching direction traveling prohibiting means from traveling and if any passenger is present in the car.

An elevator group control apparatus collectively controls an elevator system where at least two cars can travel in each shaft independently of each other. The apparatus has a destination floor registration device installed at each hall for passengers to register destination floors and to indicate to passengers which cars will serve respectively for the registered destination floors. Priority zones and a shared zone for upper cars and for lower cars are set; a judgment is made as to whether the shared zone set can be entered by an upper or lower car; a car is put on standby based on the judgment a car is sent to a withdrawal floors, as necessary, after a service is completed. A car is selected as a candidate for assignment to a destination call if, according to the destination to be served by each car and the zones set for each car, so that the car would cause neither collision nor safety stop; and a car is assigned based on the selection.
