Abstract:
A modular panel (10) for the composition of ventilated floors or walls comprises a polygonal plate (11) of plastic material, which forms peripheral mechanical connection protrusions (12) for connecting to other similar modular panels. A first face (13) of the plate has recesses (14) for partially accommodating a certain number of supporting spacers (15) which protrude from the plate so as to bear on an underlying floor or a vertical wall, leaving a ventilated gap between the panel and the floor or wall. A substrate (19) having thermal and acoustic insulation properties is applied to a second, opposite face (17) of the panel. A superficial coating layer (18), visible in use, is applied to the insulating substrate (19).
Abstract:
A method of laying concrete slabs comprising: • providing shuttering having a regular wave shape along a side of a first slab to be cast at which side a second slab will subsequently be cast; · casting the first slab; • removing the regular-wave-shape shuttering; • casting a second slab, whereby the slabs have inter-digitated protrusions of the regular wave shape along their adjoining sides.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A modular surfacing mat that includes a base mat, a top mat secured to the base mat with an adhesive, and a top coat applied to the top of the top mat to form a protective finish. The top coat may be any coating that provides a protective top finish on the mat, and is preferably a polyurea or polyurethane. The top coat may include a colorant. The top mat is preferably at least partially made from rubber. For example, recycled rubber may be used. The adhesive that bonds the top mat to the base mat is preferably a polyurethane or a polyurea. The base mat is preferably made from a cellular foam structure. For example, cellular foam strucutre may be closed cell polyethylene foam nuggets fused together in a crosslinked matrix.

Abstract:
The invention relates to an artificial stone floor element with a basic shape that corresponds to the combination of a plurality of square basic elements, especially to an angular floor element. The floor element includes projections and recesses along its peripheral sides of the basic element when seen from the center of the respective top face of the basic element is substantially point-symmetric with respect to its mid-point. The inventive floor element is further characterized in that the profile consists of three projections and three recesses.
Abstract:
A heatable module for use in constructing a pathway for traffic comprises a base member having a perimeter edge. A top plate is securable to the base member in overlying relation to the top surface of the base member. An electrically powerable heater member retained by at least one of the base member and the top plate. To form a heatable pathway for traffic, the modules are placed in perimeter-edge-to-perimeter-edge relation one to the next.
Abstract:
A heatable pathway system for traffic comprises a first module having a first electrically powerable heater member and a second module having a second electrically powerable heater member. The first module and the second module are each installable in place to form a heatable pathway system for traffic. An electrical power controller circuit has a first power output connected in power supplying relation to the first electrically powered heater member and a second power output connected in power supplying relation to the second electrically powerable heater member. The electrical power controller circuit is operable to provide electrical power from the power outputs in a heating cycle that comprises a first heating sub-cycle and a second heating sub-cycle such that, during a heating cycle, a first one of the electrically powerable heater members is on and a second one of the electrically powerable heater members is off during the first heating sub-cycle, and the second electrically powerable heater member is on and the first electrically powerable heater members is off during the second heating sub-cycle.
Abstract:
A permeable surface covering unit comprises a top surface, a bottom surface and at least two pairs of sides. A cavity is formed in the unit from the top surface to the bottom surface, and has side walls. The cavity may be a side cavity between units and/or a core cavity within the unit. An undercut is provided in the cavity. Pervious material plugs fill the cavity and extend into the undercut. Thereby the plug is locked into the cavity like a rivet and resists being dislodged by mechanical or hydraulic forces.
