    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating method of zirconia film capable of carrying out local coating, keeping the uniform thickness of a coating layer, and improving thermal fatigue crack of a cylinder head, when the cylinder head is formed on the coating layer. SOLUTION: In the coating method of the zirconia film for preventing thermal fatigue crack of the diesel engine cylinder head, zirconia sol is locally spray-coated on a combustion chamber portion of the cylinder head. As a condition at that time, a process carrying out heat treatment at a base material temperature of not less than 250 °C and 400 °C after coating for 3 to 4 hours is included.
