Abstract: A resilient seal for a liquid-gas accumulator of the type having a housing with a top gas port and a bottom liquid port. A valve assembly including a spring-loaded normally open poppet valve surrounded by a sleeve is positioned in the liquid port, and a device for controlling the opening and closing of the valve in response to the level of liquid in the housing is also provided within the housing. The resilient seal is positioned on top of the popper valve and comprises a first resilient seal member and a second resilient seal member. The first resilient seal member is positioned to seat on the first end of the sleeve outside of the valve seat as the valve closes thereby providing a secondary seal. The second resilient seal member is positioned atop the first resilient seal member and is positioned to seat on a first end of an anti-extrusion ring surrounding the sleeve as the valve closes, thereby providing a tertiary seal and creating a suction effect causing the first resilient seal member to better adhere to the first end of the sleeve.

Abstract: A pressure tank includes a hollow container which has an outlet for discharging fluid therefrom. The outlet is provided with a valve seat, for receiving a valve member which is slidably mounted in the container above the valve seat for respective movement between an open position, so that fluid in the container can flow therefrom through the outlet and a closed position so as to prevent discharging of fluid out of the container. A flexible partition is provided in the container, subdividing the interior thereof into a gas-containing compartment and into a liquid-containing compartment. The partition is displaceable on expansion of gas in the gas compartment, into an extended position immediately adjacent the outlet. An element is connected to the valve member, which element cooperates with the partition in the extended position of the same so as to prevent premature movement of the valve member into the closed position until the container is empty.

Abstract: A valve for an opening of a pressure vessel has a body member defining a fluid flow passage having an inlet and an outlet. The body member is movable between an open position in which the inlet communicates with a hollow of the vessel so that a fluid enters the inlet of the valve and is discharged from the outlet thereof, and a closed position in which the inlet is discommunicated from the hollow of the vessel and the fluid does not enter the valve. The fluid exerts during its flow through the passage a component of force upon the body member which tends to prematurely urge the latter into the closed position. An arrangement is provided for accelerating the discharge of the fluid through the outlet of the valve in the open position so as to prevent premature movement of the body member into the closed position under the action of the fluid. The above arrangement may be in form of formations reducing a cross-sectional area of the outlet of the valve, which formations may be formed in the body member and/or in a wall of a housing surrounding the body member.

Abstract: A hydraulic accumulator, especially a bladder accumulator, includes an accumulator housing (10), and a separation element disposed in and separating the accumulator housing interior into a gas chamber (16) adjoining an inlet (14) on the gas side from a fluid chamber (18) adjoining an inlet (20) on the fluid side. The inlet on the fluid side has a fluid connecting neck (22) having a valve support (40) disposed in the neck. The valve support has fluid openings (42), and a disk-shaped valve body (32) that tapers towards the valve shaft (46) on its side facing the valve support (40). The valve shaft can be pretensioned via a force accumulator (62) into the open position releasing the fluid opening, can be displaced into its closed position by a displacement of the separation element (12), and projects into the fluid chamber (18) in the open position. The valve body (32) is an integral, especially one-piece, component of the valve support (40) that is guided along its outer periphery (56) within the connecting neck (22) so as to be displaceable in it, creating a hydraulic accumulator that is comparatively simple and inexpensive in production.
