Abstract:
In on embodiment, techniques for providing alerts to a user when a communication frequency pattern between a user and a contact has not occurred during a pre-determined amount of time are provided. Communication records between the contact and the user can be analyzed to determine if the communication frequency pattern with the contact during the pre-determined amount of time does not meet pre-determined criteria. For example, the criteria may be generate an alert if communications do not occur in the last month, generate an alert if less than five communications occur in the last six months, or any other communication pattern. Also, the content of a communication may be analyzed to determine if a certain topic has been discussed. If a certain topic has not been discussed during the pre-determined amount of time, an alert may also be generated reminding the user that the topic has not been discussed.
Abstract:
A network terminal apparatus of a type which is directly connectable in a packet communication network. The apparatus is provided with an interface for connecting to a circuit under an environment of an SIP terminal network, and a capability of carrying out facsimile transmission/reception, carries out a call control method according to SIP, transmits and receives an SDP added to a message body of an SIP, and carries out, in a same session, both a call control session transmitting and receiving an SIP message and an SDP and a T.38 session transmitting and receiving a T.38 signal.

Abstract:
A Message Storage and Deliver System (MSDS) (10) is connected to a plurality of DID phone lines and receives facsimile messages, voice messages, and data messages. The messages are stored in memory and are also converted into appropriate hyper-test mark-up language (HTML) (30) files. The users can then connect to the MSDS (10) through the Internet (30). The users of the MSDS (10) therefore have the advantage of being able to receive their messages at any time and at any location at a reasonable cost. The user can also telephone the MSDS (10) to listen to messages or to alter the service provided by the MSDS (10).
Abstract:
A message storing and delivery method and system (10) wherein messages are received (40), converted (58) from a first file format to any type of mixed-media type page layout mark-up language that can be used to exchange information on a network (30); said mixed-media message is stored (52) within a storage area (11), retrieved from the storage area after a request (64) has been received from a user (32) and transmitted (80) to the user (32) over a network (30).
Abstract:
The present invention is related to methods and systems for reducing or canceling echoes during fax communications In an embodiment, during a fax call, a first fax signal from a first fax device intended for a second fax device is detected. Based at least in part on detecting the first fax signal from the first fax device (200) or on the termination of the first fax signal, an echo audio packet is muted, wherein the echo audio packet is at least partly the result of the first fax signal being transmitted over a network, the network including at least a data network (203).
Abstract:
A Message Storage and Deliver System (10) (MSDS) is connected to the public switched telephone network (PSTN) and receives incoming calls with these calls being facsimile, voice, or data transmissions. The MSDS (10) detects the type of call and stores the message signal in a database. The MSDS (10) is also connected to the Internet and has a hyper-text transfer protocol deamon (HTTPD) for receiving requests from users. The HTTPD forwards requests for certain files or messages to a network server which transmits at least part of the message to the HTTPD and then to the user. In addition to request for certain documents, the HTTPD may also receive a request in the form of a search query. The search query is forwarded from the HTTPD to an application program for conducting the search of the database. The results of the search are forwarded through the HTTPD to the user. The user may then select one or more files or messages from the search results and may save the search for later reference.
