Abstract: A hinge for doors, flaps or the like for the closing of a container has a hinge part which is pivotable about an axis and in which an angle lever is mounted pivotably. One of its arms is loaded by compression spring and its other arm carries a roller which is supported on a cam at least partially surrounding the axis and pivotable relative to the hinge part. To provide a hinge which presses the door or lid firmly into its closed position in the closing region only, the cam has a cam region (4'') which is essentially concentric with the axis and on which the roller (9) runs in the opening region. Following this, the cam has in an approximately radial direction a flank (4') on which the roller (9) is supported in the closing region. The lever arms (8', 8'') are so angled relative to one another and have such a length that, when the roller (9) runs onto the flank (4'), the effective lever arm (8''') generating the pressure force is increased.

Abstract: The hinge comprises a compression spring, which is adapted to balance the weight of a hinged leaf, such as a flap, lid or door. The compression spring is prestressed and bears at one end on the stationary hinge member and at the other end acts by means of a spring guide on a second hinge member, which is attached to the hinged leaf. The spring guide is supported at one end by two limbs of the stationary hinge member and at the other end by a slidable pin, which is mounted in cam slots, which are respectively provided in the limbs of the stationary hinge member and in a control lever. The latter is pivoted at its other end to the movable hinge member. The cam slots have such a configuration that the excursion of the spring resulting from the pivotal movement of the control lever is minimized.

Abstract: The hinge comprises a compression spring for balancing the weight of leaves which are hinged on a horizontal axis, such as covers, flaps or the like, particularly in refrigerating chests. One end of the compression spring bears under initial stress on the stationary hinge member. The other end of the spring bears by means of the end of a spring-guiding rod, which supports the spring, on the second hinge member, which is secured to the leaf. The lower end of the spring-guiding rod bears by means of a rocker on a knife edge bearing provided on the stationary hinge member. The guiding rod is provided with coarse pitch screw threads at its end opposite to the slider. The rocker carries a nut which has coarse pitch screw threads and is in threaded engagement with the lower end of the guiding rod.

Abstract: A hinge was a compression spring to balance the weight of a door wing on dish washing machines or cookers consists of a stationary part which is supported inside the appliance, and a movable U-shaped part which is attached to the door wing. One end of the compression spring rests against the movable part near the pivot and the other is coupled to a guide rod which runs with a bolt in two slots in the movable hinge part. The other end of the guide rod is attached through a lever arm to the stationary part. This makes the door weigh compensating mechanism easy to assemble and makes it more accessible for maintenance. The bolt at one end of the guide rod acts at the same time as a stop the door swing.

Abstract: 1292649 Hinge assembly W GRONBACH 25 Nov 1969 57583/69 Heading E2F A hinge assembly comprises a member 1 secured to lid 2 and pivotally mounted by horizontal pin 10 on fixed member 3. Rod 17, pivotally mounted on member 3, carries slider 14 spring-urged into contact with cam 13 on member 1. In the closed position of lid 2 slider 14 abuts cam face portion 26 on one side of a plane perpendicular to the cam face and aligned with and extending through the axis of pin 10 to maintain the lid closed. When the lid is opened slider 14 slides onto cam face portion 27, on the opposite side of the plane, to bias the lid open. Preferably, the opening of the lid through 20‹ to 25‹ allows the slider to move completely along the cam face. In the lid's fully open position, stop 33 abuts rod 17. The slider is made of low friction material, e.g. polyamide, has guide flanges 15 and is mounted on cylindrical portion 16 of rod 17. The cam is formed from a spring steel strip stamping snapped into a recess in member 1. Rod 17 is guided in tube 22 which is screwed into rocker 21 mounted on knife edge 20 of member 3. The compression of springs 18, 19, bearing on rod 17, is adjusted by rotating tube 22 in rocker 21.
