A pH sensor for a single-use bioreactor is provided. The sensor includes a pH sensing electrode, a reference system, a storage compartment, and an access mechanism. The reference system includes a reference electrolyte, a reference electrode disposed in the reference electrolyte, and a reference junction. The storage compartment contains a storage solution that is configured to contact the pH sensing electrode within the storage compartment. The access mechanism is configured to, when actuated, couple the pH sensing electrode to an interior of the single-use bio-reactor. The storage solution includes a buffer solution that is compatible with the reference electrolyte.
Abstract:
A method of measuring low conductivity of a liquid sample using a contacting-type conductivity sensor is provided. The method includes applying a first excitation current to a contacting-type conductivity sensor at a first drive frequency. A first voltage response to the first excitation current is determined. A second excitation current is applied to the contacting-type conductivity sensor at a second drive frequency higher than the first drive frequency. A second voltage response to the second excitation current is determined. A conductivity output is provided based, at least in part, on the first and second voltage responses. A system for measuring conductivity of a liquid at or below 100 μS/cm is also provided.

A planar manifold includes a first, generally planar, layer having a plurality of apertures therethrough. A second layer has a plurality of apertures therethrough. A channel layer defines a plurality of channels therein and is interposed between the first layer and the second layer. At least one channel extends in a direction parallel to a plane of the planar manifold and couples an aperture of the first layer to an aperture of the second layer.

A colorimetric wet chemistry analyzer for determining a concentration of an analyte of interest in a sample is provided. The analyzer comprising includes a reaction chamber configured to receive the sample and facilitate a reaction that changes a color of the sample based on the concentration of the analyte of interest. A photometric cell is operably coupled to the reaction chamber to receive the sample and direct illumination therethrough. The photometric cell has a first illumination source configured to provide illumination at a first wavelength through the photometric cell and a second illumination source configured to provide illumination at a second wavelength through the photometric cell. The second wavelength is different than the first wavelength. A photo detector is configured to detect illumination passing through the photometric cell. A controller is coupled to the first illumination source, the second illumination source and the photo detector and is configured to provide an indication of concentration relative to the analyte of interest based on a signal from the photo detector.

Abstract:
A gas absorption spectroscopy system and method are provided. A sealed chamber is provided with a reference gas having a known moisture concentration. An illumination source is disposed in the sealed chamber and is configured to generate an illumination beam. A measurement cell is coupled to the sealed chamber and is configured for exposure to a gas sample such that illumination travelling through the measurement cell passes through the gas sample. A process window is disposed between the sealed chamber and the measurement cell. The process window is configured to receive the illumination beam from the illumination source and reflect a first portion of illumination while allowing a second portion of illumination to pass into the measurement cell. A reference detector is disposed to receive the first portion of illumination and provide a reference detector signal. A measurement detector is disposed to receive the second portion of illumination after the second portion of illumination has passed through the measurement cell and provide a measurement detector signal. A controller is coupled to the reference detector and the measurement detector and is configured to provide a compensated moisture output based on the reference detector signal and the measurement detector signal.

An adjustable mount for an optical device in a laser spectroscopy system is provided. The adjustable mount includes body configured to mount to a process and a reflector mount having a feature configured to mount an optical device. An interface between the body and the reflector mount allows relative motion between the reflector mount and the body. At least one alignment device is configured to engage the reflector mount and the body to fix a position of the reflector mount relative to the body. An optical device is removably mounted to the reflector mount independent of the alignment device and is sealed to the reflector mount.
Abstract:
A hydrogen sulfide gas detector is provided. The detector includes a metal oxide semiconductor-based hydrogen sulfide gas sensor having an electrical characteristic that varies with hydrogen sulfide gas concentration. Measurement circuitry is coupled to the metal oxide semiconductor-based hydrogen sulfide gas detector to measure the electrical characteristic. A controller is coupled to the measurement circuitry and is configured to receive an indication of the electrical characteristic of the hydrogen sulfide gas sensor as well as an indication of ambient humidity. The controller is configured to provide a compensated hydrogen sulfide gas concentration output based on the indication of the electrical characteristic of the hydrogen sulfide gas sensor, an indication of ambient temperature, and the indication of ambient humidity.

A process combustion transmitter is provided. The transmitter includes a process probe extendible into a flow of process combustion exhaust. The process probe has a measurement cell and a diffuser that define a chamber within the process probe. Electronic circuitry is coupled to the measurement cell and is configured to provide an indication relative to a combustion process based on an output signal of the measurement cell. A pressure sensor is coupled to the electronic circuitry and is fluidically coupled to the chamber. The electronic circuitry is configured to provide an adjusted calibration based on pressure measured within the chamber during a calibration.

A pneumatic multiport selector valve and analytic instrument employing said valve are provided. The valve includes a base having a mounting surface configured to mount to the analytic instrument. The mounting surface has a plurality of apertures therein for coupling to flow conduits of the analytic instrument. At least one piston plate has a number of apertures therethrough. The apertures are configured to slidably receive respective pistons. Pistons are disposed in respective apertures of the at least one piston plate. A cushion layer is disposed between the at least one piston plate and the base. The cushion layer has a plurality of apertures to allow actuation gas therethrough. A plate clamps the at least one piston plate to the base.
