Systeme d'impregnation par un liquide (10) pour l'impregnation, par un liquide, d'un produit (par exemple 16) compressible et absorbant maintenu au moins en partie dans le compartiment interne d'une cuve ou autre recipient (par exemple A1). L'operation d'impregnation est executee en comprimant le produit pour accroitre le volume de la cuve disponible pour le liquide d'impregnation, et en mettant en contact le liquide avec le produit lorsque celui-ci est maintenu en condition de compression. De preference, le produit se compose d'une pile de feuilles (16) absorbantes et l'operation de compression est executee en comprimant vers le bas la feuille superieure de la pile dans des zones localisees (avec 48 et 50) situees a l'interieur des marges d'extremite de facon a faire ecarter les marges d'extremite d'au moins quelques feuilles adjacentes dans la pile. Ceci augmente la possibilite de penetration de la zone de surface absorbante a l'interieur de la pile par le liquide d'impregnation.
Abstract:
A process for dielectrically embossing flexible foam, e.g. polyurethane foam assemblies, in which the foam is thermally reticulated prior to being dielectrically embossed. Inconsistencies in the dielectric embossing process are essentially eliminated by the thermal reticulation pretreatment of the foam. There is also disclosed a dielectrically embossed laminate including a thermally reticulated dielectrically active flexible foam.
Abstract:
A system and method of installing a coreless roll (12) of an absorbent consumer paper product in a dispenser (10) performs or includes steps of orienting the coreless roll to a desired position of alignment within the dispenser, and securing the coreless roll to the dispenser by penetrating the coreless roll with at least one projection (30) that penetrates between adjacent layers of paper product in the coreless roll so that the coreless roll is secured against radial displacement with respect to the dispenser during operation. A temporary holding mechanism (38) may be provided to hold the coreless roll in an intended position of alignment while the coreless roll is being secured to the dispenser.
Abstract:
There is disclosed a decorative window for use with a sanitary product dispenser such as a dispenser for dispensing tissue, paper towels or liquid soap. In a preferred embodiment the window (20,36) is substantially transparent and is mounted to the front cover (14,34) of the dispenser. A decorative strip support (60,108) releasably engages the window (10, 36) from within the dispenser. The decorative strip support member (60,108) preferably includes at least one flexible latch bar (68,116) which is engageable with a latch bolt receptacle (56,106) in the window (20, 36). A decorative strip cut to the appropriate size can be inserted against the inside surface of the window (20,36) with the decorative strip support (56, 106) removed. The decorative strip support can be reinserted against the window such that the latch bar (68,116) engages the latch receptacle (56,106) thus pressing and supporting the decorative strip between the window (20,36) and the decorative strip support (60, 108) and automatically compensating for decorative strips of different thicknesses.

Production of novel pulp, primarily wood pulp, from chips using pre-treatment with stabilizers and alkaline peroxide prior to mechanical fiberization (refining) to increase the brightness of the resulting fibers and the papermaking strength achievable with the fibers. The novel aspect of the pre-treatment prior to refining is that it results in the ''in situ'' formation within the chips of a stabilizing flock or sol.

Amélioration du formage à deux toiles selon laquelle une structure de support ouverte ayant la forme d'un rouleau de tête ouvert ou à lames ou un patin de formage à fentes soutient au moins une partie de la toile machine extérieure dans la gorge de formage. Ainsi, il est possible de réduire l'écart entre la structure de support ouverte et le cylinder de formage de manière à ce que ledit écart soit inférieur ou égal à l'épaisseur du jet de pâte de papier projeté entre les deux toiles pour former la bande de papier. Le jet de pâte à papier ainsi projeté heurte à la fois le cylindre de formage et la structure de support ouverte et un drainage immédiat est opéré à travers la toile machine extérieure sans modification importante de la tension ou du rayon de ladite toile machine extérieure, ce qui améliore généralement l'uniformité et en particulier l'uniformité du poids par rame de la bande de papier produite.

There is disclosed a high yield pulping process comprising impregnating chips with an alkaline peroxide solution containing stabilizers for peroxide followed by mechanical defibration, in which the wood chips are pretreated prior to peroxide impregnation, said pretreatment comprising;
(a) impregnating the chips with an impregnation solution consisting essentially of a chelating agent for metallic ions; and, (b) expressing from the chips chelating agents and metallic ions.

There is disclosed a wet wipe comprising a porous sheet impregnated with an aqueous lotion and, concentrated near the surface of the sheet, a hydrophobic ingredient entrapped in polymeric beads. The hydrophobic ingredient is usually a functional ingredient which is useful for treating the human skin or environmental surfaces. The hydrophobic ingredient is preferably released in a controlled way. There are also disclosed methods of making said wet wipe.
