The present invention provides a method and device for playing video data. The method according to the present invention comprises the processes of storing a received video file in a storing format when receiving the video file, extracting video data encoded from the stored video file and video data attribute information including location information of sample allowing a time hierarchical approach to the video file, extracting samples corresponding to a basic time hierarchy and samples corresponding to an extended time hierarchy after the corresponding sample based on the location information of sample allowing the time hierarchical approach and restoring the extracted samples to be played.

PURPOSE: A method for reducing a channel change delay using a hybrid multimedia service and a device thereof are provided to reduce the channel change delay through a unicast preview channel in an open IP multicast broadcasting service. CONSTITUTION: When a user1 requests a channel change at the time(tc), a preview server provides multimedia having lower quality than the image quality of a main server to the user1 during buffering for providing a service of another channel. The user1 receives the service during the buffering. Therefore, the minimum quality of the multimedia is guaranteed for a delay channel change time. CONSTITUTION: User content consumption information of a first terminal is stored wherein the first terminal stops using content. A query for inquiring whether to continue to watch the content is transmitted to a second terminal. The user content consumption information is transmitted to the second terminal to continue to watch the content. The user content consumption information is transmitted to the second terminal only when the second terminal receives a response for whether to continue to watch the content.

PURPOSE: A method and apparatus for providing a multimedia streaming service based on a fragment, and a method and apparatus for receiving a multimedia streaming service based on the fragment are provided to determine 3D construction information, left and right sequence information, or stereo-mono fragment change number information about the video of a current file. CONSTITUTION: Encoded data of a video including 2D video date or 3D video data is divided with a fragment unit(2310). Property information including 3D signaling information or relation information is determined at each fragment(2320).
