    Abstract: A method for preparing a dispersion of onion-like carbon particles is provided to obtain an aqueous solution of onion-like carbon particles having excellent mechanical properties such as lubricating property and a fine particle size and showing excellent dispersibility sufficient for preventing secondary agglomeration. A method for preparing a dispersion of onion-like carbon particles comprises: a step(S1) of heating diamond nanoparticles under an inert gas atmosphere to provide onion-like carbon particles containing primary crystals having a size of 4-10nm; a step(S2) of adding dropwise 0.2-10 wt of the onion-like carbon particles and 0.2-5 wt% of an anionic dispersant to distilled water, and further adding a base reagent to form a mixed solution maintaining a pH of 8.5 or higher; a step(S3) of introducing the mixed solution into a sealed agitator in an amount of 30-50 vol% based on the total volume of the agitator along with 40-70 vol% of agitation particles; and a step(S4) of separating the agitation particles from the mixed solution to obtain a mixed solution in which the onion-like carbon particles are dispersed. The anionic dispersant is selected from a group consisting of sodium dodecylsulfonate, calcium dodecylsulfonate, polyacrylic acid, 1,2,3,4-butanetetracarboxylic acid.
