Abstract: An induction heater is provided to prevent abnormal overheat, even when a controller is defective, by disconnecting a high frequency current from a heating coil. An induction heater includes a heating member(22), a temperature sensor(20), and a signal blocking unit(28). The heating member is inductively heated by a heating coil to which a high frequency voltage is applied. The temperature sensor detects a temperature of the heating member and outputs a signal corresponding to the detected temperature. The signal blocking unit directly receives the output signal from the temperature sensor and turns off a high frequency voltage, which is applied to the heating coil, according to a variation of an output signal. A PTC(Positive Temperature Coefficient) temperature sensor has a resistance which is varied according to the detected temperature.
