    Abstract: A stream processing apparatus and a method thereof are provided to compensate a stream changed by trellis reset. A trellis encoder(120) changes a stream in which a parity is added. An RS re-encoder(130) modifies at least one of a data area and a parity after the changed stream part. The RS re-encoder produces a new code word matched for the changed stream part. A multiplexer(110) reconstructs the stream with the generated code word.

    Abstract: A dual transport stream generating device and a method thereof are provided to improve data transport rate, by transporting a turbo stream using a payload region and a parity addition region of a normal stream. An adaptor part(110) generates an adaptation field in a parity addition region and a payload region of a partial packet among a normal stream. A stuffer part(130) generates a dual transport stream by inserting a turbo stream into the generated adaptation field. The adaptor part generates the adaptation field in the whole region of the parity addition region and the whole region of the payload region.

    Abstract: A digital broadcasting system and a data processing method thereof are provided to reduce waste of frequencies by using the same broadcasting signal based on the same frequency. A digital broadcasting system comprises a packet generator(241), a counter(243) and an information controller(245). The packet generator(241) generates plural packets by processing compression of pictures and voices. The counter(243) counts the number of generated packets and output the counting result. The information controller(245) determines whether the counting result is the preset number, inserts packet start information into the packets according to the determination result and transmits the packets. The information controller(245) inserts the packet start information into a header of the packet which is placed at the position matched with the counting result wherein the packet start information indicates that the next to the packet into whose header the packet start information is inserted is a start packet of a frame.

    Abstract: An apparatus and method to generate a dual transport stream. The apparatus includes an eraser encoder to receive a turbo stream and to eraser-encode the turbo stream, a duplicator to provide a parity insertion region for the eraser-encoded turbo stream, and a multiplexer to receive a normal stream and to multiplex the turbo stream processed by the duplicator and the normal stream to generate the dual transport stream. The duplicator provides the parity insertion region using a ½-rate conversion method or ¼-rate conversion method. Only the turbo stream is detected prior to the transmission of the dual transport stream, and the parity is inserted into the parity insertion region, so that the turbo stream can be robustly processed.
