    Abstract: PURPOSE: An apparatus for correcting chromaticity of a flat panel display and a method therefor are provided to realize video display having color reproducibility up to the maximum range of colors reproduced by a flat panel without distortion of colors. CONSTITUTION: A look-up table(100) divides color coordinates of a received gray scale signal into nine small domains, and stores transformed distance information calculated by corresponding the divided small domains with different divided domains of reference color coordinates, and stores correction values according to states of the gray scale signal. A chromaticity correcting unit(300) converts the gray scale signal by converting transformed distance information by an interpolation, and corrects the gray scale signal by extracting the correction values from the look-up table according to states of the converted gray scale signal.
