Abstract: PURPOSE:To simplify the manufacturing process and to contrive reduction in cost of production by a method wherein both end parts or one end part of the cylindrical magnet body of a magnet roll are notched, and they are used as a supporting part. CONSTITUTION:A magnet roll 11 consists of a cylindrical roll part 12 located in the center part and supporting parts 13 and 13 located on both end parts, and they are formed in one body using resin magnet. The mixed material of high molecular polymer and the magnetic powder such as ferrite, rare-earth cobalt and the like, which is kneaded, molded and magnetized, is used as the above-mentioned resin magnet. As the end part of the roll part 12 constitutes the supporting parts 13 and 13 by notching the end part, the magnet roll 11 can be supported by merely providing a receptacle conforming to the supporting parts 13 and 13 on the developing unit of a duplicating machine.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal illuminator which is satisfactory in durability, is easily made to emit light uniformly, has little light loss and has an inexpensive manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal illuminator is provided with light transmission tubes 1 (1a-1c), arranged along peripheries of a liquid crystal displaying surface 10. On the one end face of the light transmission tube 1a a light source unit 11 is arranged. The light, outgoing from the other end face of the light transmission tube 1a, is reflected with a reflector 5a and made incident on the one end face of the light transmission tube 1b. The light, outgoing from the other end face of the light transmission tube 1b, reflected with a reflector 5b and made incident on the one end face of the light transmission tube 1c. On the other end face of the light transmission tube 1c a reflection body layer 7 is arranged. The incident light from the end faces of the respective light transmission tubes 1a, 1b, 1c is radiated from the peripheral side faces of the respective light transmission tubes 1a, 1b, 1c.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a signboard which is extremely excellent in durability and is good in visibility. SOLUTION: The signboard 60 has a light transmission tube 70 of an inverted V shape indicating a character 'A' and a light transmission tube 71 of a straight line shape to be inserted in this V shape. The light transmission tubes 61 to 69 are drawn around horizontal so as to fill the circumference of the character 'A' and the spaces between the V shape. All of the respective light transmission tubes 61 to 69 and 70 and 71 are retracted on one side into a light source unit 80. Light emitting elements, such as LEDs, of 11 pieces in total, are installed in correspondence to the light transmission tubes 61 to 69 and 70 and 71. Respectively one piece of the light emitting elements are installed opposite to the end face of one piece of the light transmission tubes. All of the respective light emitting elements are driven by drive circuits so as to emit light independently from others.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a marine hose provided with a optical transmission tube which is light and excellent in durability and causes little arc and electric leakage. SOLUTION: A marine hose is provided with a flange 2 on each side thereof, and a plurality of marine hoses are coaxially connected to each other through these flanges 2 and are used for transporting crude oil. A light transmitting tube 3 is arranged along the external peripheral surface of this marine hose in the longitudinal direction of this marine hose, and a light source unit is connected to one end of this light transmitting tube 3. The light source unit obtains electric power from the solar battery provided on top of the light source unit in the day, and the battery in this light source unit is charged with electric power, and light is radiated from the light transmission tube 3 in the night.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a road formed of a center line with a lightweight optical transmission tube having excellent water resistance and durability, and free from any electric leak. SOLUTION: A center line 12 is provided in the center of a driveway of a road comprising a carriage way 10 and a sidewalk 11. A long box-like casing 13 extended the extending direction of a road and formed of a precast concrete or the like is embedded in this center line 12 part, and an optical transmission tube 1 is arranged in a groove 18 of this casing 13. A hard and translucent synthetic resin lid 14 is firmly fixed to this casing 13 by bolts 15. One end side of this optical transmission tube 1 is led into a light source unit 20. The light source unit is installed in the walkway 11, and comprises a white light source 21 and a yellow light source 22 formed of an LED or the like.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain a high optical transmission tube function for a long period of time by fitting rings into the grooves on the inner peripheral surface of a metallic sleeve, thereby surely fixing end-sealing plugs and preventing the leakage or leaching of a core material. SOLUTION: The optical transmission tube 10 is provided with the grooves 5 around the end edge of a metallic sleeve 4 on the inner peripheral surface at the front end of the metallic sleeve 4 and the rings 6 fitted into the grooves 5 detain the end faces of the end-sealing plugs 3, thereby preventing the pull-out of the end-sealing plugs 3. The grooves 5 of the metallic sleeve 4 are formed to a square sectional shape and the rings 6 fitted into the grooves 5 are also formed to a square sectional shape so as to comply with the shape of the grooves 5. The transmission tube 10 is produced by inserting the end-sealing plugs 3 into the openings at both ends of the clad 2 packed with the core material 1, then fitting the metallic sleeve 4 previously mounted with the rings 6 in the grooves 5 in such a manner that the rings 6 come into contact with the end faces of the end-sealing plugs 3, then caulking the sleeve, thereby compressing and deforming the outer periphery parts of the metallic sleeve 4 and the clad 2.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive light transmission tube which emits light having high luminance while having directivity from its lateral peripheral surface, maintains an excellent light transmission characteristic in spite of adhesion of stains, etc., and has excellent mass productivity and which is excellent in executability. SOLUTION: This light transmission tube 1 has a tubular clad 3 and a core 2 composed of a material having the refractive index higher than the refractive index of this clad material, is formed with plural belt-like reflection layers 4 between the tubular clad 3 and the core 2 along the longitudinal direction thereof and is constituted to reflect and scatter the light passing the core 2 by these reflection layers 4 and to release the light from the outer peripheral surface of the tubular clad 3 on the side opposite to the side formed with the reflection layers. The outer peripheral shape of the cross section of the tubular clad 3 is noncircular. This light transmission tube may be produced by using a multicolor extruder.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely prevent the occurrence of the liquid leak and the run of the core material in the vicinity of the calking section or the unplugging of a sealing plug or deviation and to maintain the optical transmission function over a long time by forming a film or a layer using the material having adhesiveness on the side surface of the sealing plug. SOLUTION: The timer side of a tubular clad 1 is filled with a transparent and liquid core 2 having the refractive index which is larger than the refractive index of the clad 1 and the both side opening sections of the clad 1 are plugged in by sealing plugs 3. The both side outer peripheral sections of the clad 1 are fitted with and covered by tubular metallic sleaves 4. Calking sections 5 of the sleaves 4 are calked and formed and the both side outer peripheral sections of the sleaves 4 are pressed and deformed. Moreover, a coating film 30 is formed over the outer peripheral surface of the plug 3. The plug 3 of the light incident side is formed from a transparent material. The light beams made incident from the plug 3 are transmitted to the core 2, reflected by the clad 1, transmitted to the other side direction of the core 2 and emitted from the other plug 3.
