That is, light source color designated signals to be applied from the next synchronizing signal SYNC and the duty signals of a PWM 127 are reserved in the respective registers 126 and 128. In such a manner, by changing the light emitting color and on/off duty of a light source in synchronism with the synchronizing signals SYNC, the light source is controlled. That is, one light source is uniformly turned on/off during one line synchronizing period relating to any light source of R, G and B and the ratio of the on-and-off time of the light is made different in the respective colors.

CONSTITUTION:When a telephone set sends a dial pulse while no telephone set is in use and a DC loop is tentatively interrupted, a transistor(TR) Q1 is turned on and a TR Q2 is turned off and no current flows to a LED of a photocoupler PC. Thus, an almost save potential to a Vcc is outputted to a terminal out. When a voltage between terminals A, B is low, the TR Q1 is turned off and the TR Q2 is turned on, a current flows to the LED of the photocoupler PC, which is lighted. In this case, the current flowing to the LED is constant by a constant current circuit independently of the voltage between the terminals A, B. Almost a same potential as GND is outputted to the terminal out. Moreover, a resistance of a resistor R3 is set so that a sufficient current flows to the LED of the photocoupler PC even when a voltage between the terminals A, B is low.

Therefore, the signals of the different frequencies can be detected according as whether or not the telephone set 2 is used, and the data communication can automatically be operated by the detection of the different signals.

When image data for one line to be recorded next is transferred to the thermal head 13, whether the timer 116 has come to a time-out state, i.e. 20ms has elapsed, is judged. If 20ms has not elapsed, a recording processing is executed. However, if 20ms has elapsed, the thermal head 13 is electrically conducted with block unit.

The motor for ink sheet transport 25 is driven by rotation by a specified number of steps because the motor for ink sheet drive 25 supports and drives the winding roll 18. However, if this rotary drive takes place, the rotary angle of the ink sheet supply roll 17 changes in response to the change in the dimeters of the ink sheet supply roll 17 and the winding roll 18. Consequently, the remaining amount of the ink sheet 14 can be obtained by detecting this change with the aid of a photointerrupter 62.
