Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device, capable of surely discriminating the front or the back, at a low cost concerning a metal plate having a metal film formed on its front and back sides. SOLUTION: Concerning a metal lid 2 after metal film formation without difference for the front/rear, the film thickness of an arbitrary face is measured. Measured data is outputted to a front/rear discrimination part S3 from a film thickness-measuring part S2 to be compared and discriminated. The film thickness date of one face is stored previously in a second memory and is compared with the measured data stored in a first memory by a comparison part. The result of comparing is outputted to the discrimination part, and it is discriminated for the front/rear by the discrimination part. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface-mounted piezoelectric vibrator with the first objective of suppressing malfunctions to a piezoelectric diaphragm and the like at hermetic sealing of a metal package even though the package, which is proper in an electromagnetic shielding, is miniaturized and with the second objective of raising the holding strength and stability of the diaphragm. SOLUTION: A surface mount quartz vibrator consists of a metal package 1, having a recessed part with the opened upper part, a quartz diaphragm 3 which is a piezoelectric diaphragm housed in the package, and a metal cover 2 which is bonded to an aperture provided in the package. The package consists of a metallic shell 11, a ceramic glass formed under the lower surface of the shell 11, device terminals 12 and 13 mounted penetratingly the shell 11 and ground terminals 14 and 15 mounted to the shell 11. A clad silver solder 21 is formed on the side of the bonded surface of the cover 2 to the shell 11 as a brazing metal. The package 1 and the cover 2 are seam-welded to each other.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface-mount piezoelectric vibrator capable of being more miniaturized while securing a storage space for a piezoelectric diaphragm and of improving reliability in air-tight sealing. SOLUTION: A surface-mount crystal vibrator is composed of a ceramic package 1 having a recessed part with an opened upper part, a crystal diaphragm 3, which is a piezoelectric diaphragm to be stored in the relevant package, and a metal lid 2 bonded to the opening part of the package. Among the inside corner parts of a ceramic frame, the curvature of two inside corner parts on the side to form an electrode pad is greater than that of the other two inside corner parts and the frame width of the ceramic frame on the side to form the electrode pad is narrower than the frame width on the side not to form the electrode pad.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a package for a piezoelectric vibration device that can widely ensure a element containing area because of possibility of a lower height and a thin profile, enhance the reliability of joining between the package and a cover and can be capable of EMI(electromagnetic interference) countermeasures at a low cost. SOLUTION: In the package for a piezoelectric vibration device where a ceramic substrate 1 having a recessed part to contain the piezoelectric vibration element and a dam at its outer circumference and a crystal cover 2 corresponding to the dam are air-tightly joined with low melting point glass G, uniform etching processing is applied to the entire face of the crystal plate cover.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce exhaust gas at soldering, improve workability and avoid high temperature heating to a region except a bonding region of a package for an electronic component, by making solder a clad. SOLUTION: In a hermetically sealing lid 2, a peripheral bonding part (silver solder layer) 21 which corresponds to a peripheral metal layer 11 is formed on the lower surface of parent metal 20 of covar or the like. The joint 21 is formed by using a technique of rolling and made a so called clad. The clad joint 21 is, e.g. about 20 μm thick and the width corresponds to the width of the metal layer 11. As a result, a seal path having a width of 0.3 mm is formed, and an effective seal path having almost the same width is obtained by bonding. A high frequency heating method is used as a local heating method. A lid 2 is mounted on a ceramic package 1, and a collectively unified member is accommodated in a circular coil. The coil is arranged in the vicinity of only the position corresponding to the metal layer 11 and the joint 21 and made not to approach other parts of the ceramic package 1.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a decrease joining strength of a metal member such as support, etc., and in variations in the joining strength by a method wherein a connection electrode is formed in a condition that its part is embedded in a ceramic package. SOLUTION: A ceramic substrate 1 serving as a ceramic package is composed of rectangular alumina, and an alumina coat 2 is provided near its outer periphery. Inwardly of the alumina coat 2, connection electrodes 3, 4 are provided. A part of the connection electrodes 3, 4 is embedded in the ceramic package and the connection electrodes 3, 4 are 20μm or more in a thickness. Further, pressing is used as a method for embedding a part of the connection electrodes 3, 4. Thereby, a joining face of the ceramic package to a metallized face is increased and joining strength between the ceramic package and a metallized face is enhanced, so that joining strength of a metal member being a substance to be joined is stable.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the bonding strength of a support by welding the support for the surface mounting type piezoelectric vibrator to a reinforcement plate. SOLUTION: Metallic plates 9, 10 are silver-brazed to an upper face of connection electrodes 3, 4 of a ceramic insulation board 1. Supports 5, 6 are welded onto the metallic plates 9, 10. The thickness of the metallic plates 9, 10 is desirably the thickness of the supports 5, 6 or over. Thus, the connection electrodes 3, 4 and the ceramic board 1 are not damaged at welding.

PURPOSE:To allow a 3-color display of high reliability by providing insulating color films on stationary electrodes facing each other, providing movable electrodes to insert the insulating color films between the stationary electrodes and controlling electrostatic attraction by the voltage impressed to these electrodes. CONSTITUTION:The electrode 81 or 82 is electrostatically attracted to the electrode 1 or 2 when the voltage is impressed between the stationary electrodes 1 and 2 which are respectively provided with curved parts 12, 22 and the insulating color films 15, 25 of 1st and 2nd colors and the movable electrodes 81 and 82 which are fixed by the curved parts 12, 22 to insert the insulating color film 83 of a 3rd color, via a delay circuit for either thereof. The 3-color display is thereby executed according to the attraction state. The weight of the movable electrodes is reduced and the decrease of the elasticity is suppressed by the constitution to avert the sticking of the insulating color films to the movable electrodes. The 3-color display of high reliability is thus executed.
