Abstract: IN THIS LIFT INSTALLATION, LIFT BRAKING EQUIPMENT (11) BRAKES AND HOLDS A LIFT CAGE (2). ACCORDING TO THE INVENTION, FOR CHECKING THE BRAKING EQUIPMENT (11) AN EFFECTIVE COEFFICIENT OF FRICTION (?E), WHICH IS GENERATED DURING PRESSING OF THE BRAKE PLATE (14) AGAINST THE BRAKE TRACK (6), OF THE BRAKE UNIT IS ASCERTAINED. MOREOVER, A PLACING IN OPERATION WITH USE OF THIS CHECKING METHOD IS ILLUSTRATED AND EQUIPMENT FOR PERFORMING THIS PLACING IN OPERATION IS PRESENTED. (FIG. 4)

Abstract: In this lift installation, lift braking equipment (11) brakes and holds a li ft cage (2). The lift braking equipment (13) consists of a number of brake units (12) which when required are brought into engagement with brake tracks (6), wherein the brake unit (12) f or this purpose presses at least one brake plate (14) against the brake track (6) and produc es a braking force (FB). According to the invention, for checking the braking equipment (11) an effective coefficient of friction ( e), which is generated during pressing o f the brake plate (14) against the brake track (6), of the brake unit is ascertained. Moreover , a placing in operation with use of this checking method is illustrated and equipment for performing this placing in operation is presented.

Abstract: A secondary part of a linear motor, for use in an elevator installation, includes a frame having a plurality of free spaces formed therein, each of the free spaces being surrounded by an inner surface of the frame, at least one magnet positioned in an associated one of each of the free spaces, each magnet having at least one end face spaced from the inner surface, and an adhesive material filling a space between the end surface and the inner surface wherein the magnet is selectively positionable in the associated free space prior to gluing of the magnet to the frame by the adhesive material. The secondary part can be used in a linear motor having: a first primary part, a further part being one of a secondary primary part and an iron element, and the secondary part disposed between the first primary part and the further part. A method of producing the secondary part involves forming a frame having a plurality of free spaces therein, each of the free spaces being surrounded by an inner surface of the frame, positioning at least one magnet in an associated one of each of the free spaces, the magnets being sized smaller than the associated free spaces to provide a space between a side surface of each magnet and the inner surface surrounding the associated free space, and filling the space with an adhesive material to glue each magnet to the frame.
