Abstract:
A conduit system comprises a plurality of elongate channels, each having three walls, one open side, and two open ends; a plurality of coupling devices, each adapted to be disposed between a pair of adjacent channels to couple their adjoining ends together to form a conduit with two open ends; a plurality of first covers, each adapted to be disposed over the open side of one or more channels and to be removably attached thereto by a locking device disposed within the respective channel and adapted to be operated only from within the channel; and at least one second cover adapted to be disposed over the open side of one or more channels and to be removably attached thereto by a locking device disposed within the respective channel and adapted to be remotely operated by an elongated member extending through one of the open ends of the conduit.
Abstract:
A method and system for reliably performing extra-long operations in a reliable state-full system (such as a file system). The file system includes a separate portion of the file system reserved for files having extra-long operations in progress, including file deletion and file truncation. This separate portion of the file system is called the zombie file space; it includes a separate name space from the regular (“live”) file system that is accessible to users, and is maintained as part of the file system when recording a consistency point.
Abstract:
A file cabinet door is disclosed whose front carries a contrasting design or pattern. Decorative openings are provided through a front panel in the door in the form of a pattern. A decorative interior panel of contrasting appearance to the front panel is provided rearward of the front panel. A person on viewing the front panel sees a contrasting design by reason of the openings rendering the interior panel visible therethrough.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a manual surgical knife. An elongated knife blade and an elongated blade guide are rigidly and releasably clamped in spaced apart relation. The blade guide has a guide surface which overlies and has a transverse dimension substantially greater than the blade transverse dimension. The blade guide has a flat planar guide surface which faces and is spaced from the surface of the knife blade. A guide shank is affixed to and longitudinally extends from the guide. A handle is attached to the guide shank and is laterally offset from the guide surface and inclined in a direction away from the guide surface thereby defining a hand clearance. The guide has edge-supporting ribs extending generally orthogonally from the guide in a direction opposite to the guide surface.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a process for producing a concentrated aqueous nano titania sol in the mild pH range (4.0 to 10.0) comprising contacting an acidic nano titania sol with a dispersant and with an alkalizing agent, and subjecting the nano titania sol to membrane filtration until the nano titania sol contains more than 300 g TiO2 nanoparticles/dm3. The nano titania sol may further be subjected to a coating treatment within any of the steps of the above described process. The concentrated aqueous nano titania sol of this disclosure is suitable for use in a variety of applications, including providing UV protection and photochemically degrading or inactivating contaminants.

Abstract:
NMR logging in a wellbore is used to monitor an oil reservoir during oil recovery by miscible displacement. Diffusivity distributions found by NMR logging indicate whether one or two phases are present and composition of residual oil. Operation of the oil recovery procedure may be maintained or modified in response to monitoring of the reservoir.

Abstract:
The invention relates to methods and apparatus for determining a downhole parameter in an underbalanced drilling environment which include: selectively activating a first fluid flowing from the formation through a wellbore while under balanced drilled; detecting the activated first fluid, and determining a depth at which said fluid enters the wellbore.

Abstract:
Embodiments described herein adapt static-image and clone technology to provide a simulated dynamic image to an application requesting a dynamic image. A storage system is configured to backup its file system by taking a first static image of the file system at a point in time. A clone of the first image may then be produced, the clone containing any subsequent changes to the file system and a reference pointer to the first image. A second static image of the clone is then produced. An application may request, from the storage system, an image of the file system. In response, the second static image may be presented to the application as a simulated dynamic image.
