    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the tenacity from deteriorating in a step for treating fiber with an adhesive such as RFL by blending a boron compound with a spinning oiling agent containing a lubricant and an emulsifying agent or adding the boron compound to the adhesive. CONSTITUTION:A boron compound is homogeneously applied to polyester fiber for reinforcing rubber by blending the boron compound with a spinning oil containing, e.g. a lubricant (e.g. lauryl oleate) and an emulsifying agent (e.g. a surfactant) or adding the boron compound to an adhesive such as RFL. Thereby, the tenacity of the fiber is prevented from deteriorating in a step for treating the fiber with the adhesive such as the RFL and a vulcanizing step and the tenacity of the polyester fiber for reinforcing the rubber is improved. Di (glycerol monooleate)borate, etc., are preferred as the boron compound. The amount of the boron compound applied to the fiber is preferably within the range of 10-1000ppm, especially 50-250ppm based on the fiber weight.
