Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide a refrigerator capable of averaging the demand of electric power by storing electric power at night and shifting it daytime. CONSTITUTION: There are provided a freezing cycle where there are connected a condenser 8 and a heat storage unit 31 including a heat storage material 32 therein in series or parallel, timing control means 46 for controlling timing of heat storage operation for storing heat in the heat storage unit 31 in an arbitrary time zone and heat storage cooling operation for cooling the inside of the refrigerator with the aid of stored heat, a heat storage unit fan 39 for feeding cold air in the heat storage unit 31, a ventilation duct 55 for communication of the condenser 8 with the heat storage unit 31, and room temperature detection means 40 for detecting room temperature.
