    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a high-sensitivity cell by providing a linear communicating part in the cell body and closing both ends with light-transmissive members to form a storage part and providing a hole reaching the storage part from the outside face and inserting cylindrical piezoelectric film fixing parts and bringing them into contact with a solution in the storage part. CONSTITUTION:A linear communicating part 12 is provided in a cell body 2 consisting of a stainless steel. Both ends of the communicating part 12 are closed with light-transmissive members 3 and 3' consisting of glass or quartz glass, and a storage part 12' of a solution is formed in the center of the communicating part 12. A piezoelectric film 6 is adhered to the lower end face of cylindrical piezoelectric film fixing parts 7, and they are inserted to the position of a step part on the way of a hole 14, and the piezoelectric film 6 itself functions to seal it. A sample solution is introduced from a leading in pipe 11 and is filled up in the storage part 12'. Acoustic waves are generated in the sample solution by irradiation of the light from a light source in the direction of an arrow X, and the piezoelectric film 6 receives a pressure and converts the sensed pressure to electricity.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To make the construction of a light source section handy and compact by arranging a light source section having alight source and an optical system and an optoacoustic cell to enable the irradiation of a continuous spectral light radiated from the light source on an optoacoustic cell while the light source is made up of a xenon flash lamp. CONSTITUTION:In an optoacoustic cell 12, light from a xenon flash lamp 1 is made incident into a flow cell 4 through a condenser lens 2. Light is absorbed by a sample in the flow cell corresponding thereto and converted into sound waves. The sound waves are detected with an element 5 and after the signal thus detected is amplified with an amplifier 8, a signal within one cycle is extracted with a boxcar integrator 9. On the other hand, light on the reference side (the reference intensity side) is made incident into a photodiode 6 through a condenser lens 3 and an electrical signal detected with the photodiode is converted into DC with a sample holding circuit 10 passing through an amplifier 7. Then, the output from the boxcar integrator 9 is divided by the output of the sample holding circuit 10 by a divider 11 to obtain a signal A corrected in the background such as fluctuation in the light of the xenon flash lamp. The signal is outputted to a recorder, display, printer and arithmetic circuit or the like to perform a measurement and calculation.
